9. Evaluation
• The first two minutes don't tell us much at all. We get absolutely no hints on the actual story. This
may be quite annoying for the audience.
• The opening sequence has conformed to the coming of age genre by showing a teenager walking
down the character. Although no narrative has been revealed, we can make a very educated
guess and say that she is the main character. This is one convention of coming of age films.
• As this is a coming of age film we know that the target audience are teenagers.
