There are three main types of research: quantitative research which objectively measures phenomena and examines relationships through statistical analysis of collected data. Qualitative research employs flexible tools to deeply examine particular occurrences from the participants' point of view using interviews and case studies. Mixed-method research combines quantitative and qualitative approaches to increase credibility through triangulation of different methods or data.
