WALT: Change past to present tense
 When a verb ends in the suffix ‘ed’ it is often written in past
tense - E.G: walked, jumped, talked, planted
 When a verb is written in present tense it is often written in
its root form with or with the suffix ‘ing’ – E.G:
walk/walking, jump/jumping, talk/talking, plant/planting
 Sometimes verbs written in the past tense will not have
suffixes on the end of their root form and you will just have
to remember these - E.G: rode=ride, taught=teach,
swam=swim, wrote=write, ran=run, threw=throw
Can you change these sentences from past
to present tense?
 Example: The boys walked up the hill = The boys are walking up the
hill.
1. I walked to the shops slowly.
2. The dog swam to the boat.
3. Dave looked out of his window.
4. I drank my water outside.
5. Sarah built a sandcastle
6. I ate my breakfast quickly.
7. Liam ran as fast as he could.
8. The sun was sweltering hot.
