and objectives of the Act and these rules are:
To provide the framework for the governance of

and establish authority, accountability and

NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
Section 1.2. Principle. Implementation of the Act and the

Think and
Share
1. You will be grouped into five (5).
2. Each group will be given a meta card with written
instruction on it.
3. Choose a representative to share the groups’
understanding on the assigned ethical approach and
relate to experience .
4. Limit your sharing to three (3) minutes only.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
1.Define and align your values.
Consider the morals you were raised with: Treat
others how you want to be treated, always say
“thank you,” help those who are struggling, etc.
But as you grow, and as society progresses,
conventions change, often causing values to
shift.
How to become an ethical
leader?
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
Ask yourself what matters to you as an
individual, and then align that with your
priorities as a leader. Defining your values not
only expresses your authenticity but also
encourages your team to do the same,
creating a shared vision for all workers.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
2. Hire people with similar values.
Kelly believes it’s valuable to hire employees
who have different experiences and
perspectives, because they each offer their
own solutions to challenges.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
“But when it comes to values, I think having
and hiring people who share your values is
critical,” he added. “Nobody wants to work for
somebody who doesn’t share their values …
Without mutual respect, it is very difficult to
form a dynamic team, and most people find it
very difficult to respect someone who doesn’t
share their values.”
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
3. Promote open communication.
Every employee is different, even if they share
similarities. With each decision you make, be
transparent and encourage feedback from your
team. This helps you become a better leader
and helps your workers feel more confident
sharing their ideas or concerns.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
4. Beware of bias.
As humans, many of us have beliefs,
subconscious or otherwise, that are outdated or
erroneous. No leader wants to admit to their
flaws, but failure to practice self-awareness can
have detrimental consequences.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
Did you know? If you are an open-minded
leader, you will build and maintain better
relationships with your workers.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
5. Lead by example.
To build an ethical company, you must start from the
top down. Your employees will see your behavior, choices,
and values and will adopt them in their own practices.
“To effectively lead, the ethical leader walks the line he
or she wants others to follow,” Younger said. “Leading by
example is the best way to ensure an ethical business.”
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
6. Find your role models.
“There are many leaders throughout history,”
said Mike Sheety, director of ThatShirt. “Do a
little research of good, powerful leaders and try
to identify what they do [well]. Then, implement it
into your own leadership style.”
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
7. Care for yourself so you are able to care
for others.
You cannot pour from an empty cup, as the
saying goes. Leaders who take care of
themselves are more likely to better manage
and care for others.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
 Remember actions matter more than
words.
 Provide appropriate training.
 Practice good communication.
Examples of Ethical Leadership
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
“Your actions define your character, your
words define your wisdom, but your
treatment of others defines REAL you.”

Triple Threat Capability
Leadership IQ+EQ+DQ
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
IQ, short for intelligence quotient,
is a measure of a person's
reasoning ability. In short, it is
supposed to gauge how well
someone can use information and
logic to answer questions or make
predictions. IQ tests begin to assess
this by measuring short- and long-
term memory.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
DANIEL GOLEMAN is the author of the international
bestsellers Emotional Intelligence, Working with
Emotional Intelligence, and Social Intelligence, and
the co-author of the acclaimed business bestseller
Primal Leadership.
“ Emotional Quotient or Emotional Intelligence
refers to the capacity for recognizing our own feelings
and those of others, for motivating ourselves, and for
managing emotions well in ourselves, and our
relationships.”
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
Decency Quotient, or DQ, the
genuine
desire to care for employees and
colleagues. DQ means wanting
something positive for everyone in the
workplace and ensuring everyone
feels respected and valued. It also
implies a focus on doing right by
others.
Harvard Business Review
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
Bill Boulding, Dean of Duke University’s Fuqua School of
Business says that:
“Successful leaders today and in the
decades to come must possess triple-
threat leadership capability: IQ + EQ + DQ
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
IQ, EQ, and DQ
by Dean Bill Boulding
Video Presentation
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
“Triple Threat Capability Leadership –means
manifestation of smart, sensitive, and decent
leaders. But these abilities don't come naturally to
everyone, so everyone has to be selective in
whom it admits.”
Dean Bill
Boulding
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
Triple Threat Capabilities: IQ+EQ+DQ
For decency to win the day, DQ must be recognized
as an essential quality in leadership. Intellect and
emotional intelligence are vital, but it is decency that
ensures IQ and EQ are used to benefit society, not
tear it down.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
If organization can become more intentional
about decency, it can become a healing force
our world so badly needs. It can begin to
rebuild the trust that corporations have lost
with employees and customers.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
"Without decency, people won't
trust you“.
Bill Boulding, 2019
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
How likable are you to
your subordinates?
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
Likability pulls people toward you, so a good way to
maximize your success is to develop attractiveness that
increases your likability quotient.
Two (2) tips to increase LQ:

GOOD ABOUT THEMSELVES
Make sure people know what
their goals are.

FEEDBACK
IS THE BREAKFAST OF
CHAMPIONS
▪It can be done quickly, it cost NOTHING,
and it can turn PEOPLE around fast.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
SUCCESS IS NOT FOREVER
AND FAILURE ISN’T FATAL
▪Don’t get a big head when you
win or get too down in the
dumps when you lose.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
WHEN YOU STOP LEARNING,
YOU STOP GROWING…
▪ It is wise to make learning a top
priority and constantly strive to
adapt to new circumstances.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
An EFFECTIVE leader must step back, look
at the big picture, and make sure the
important things are not pushed out
of the way by the urgent needs of the

ANYTHING WORTH DOING DOES NOT
HAVE TO BE DONE PERFECTLY –AT
FIRST
Leaders should recognize that good
performance, both their own and others,
is a journey, not a destination.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY YOUR
PEOPLE ARE NOT PERFORMING WELL,
STEP UP TO THE MIRROR AND TAKE A
PEEK
The main job of a leader is to help his or her
people succeed in accomplishing their goals. And,
when people accomplish their goals and win,
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
TRYING IS JUST A WAY OF
NOT DOING SOMETHING
“When you are interested in doing something,
you only do it when it’s convenient, but when
you are committed, you follow through no
matter what-no excuses”.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
NEVER! NEVER! NEVER!
NEVER! GIVE UP!
“Persistence means sticking to what
you believe in or continuing to exist or
endure”.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
IF YOU WANT YOUR PEOPLE TO BE
RESPONSIBLE, BE RESPONSIVE TO
THEIR NEEDS
▪The job of a leader is to work with your
people rather than having them work for you.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
TAKE WHAT YOU DO SERIOUSLY
BUT YOURSELF LIGHTLY
▪Leaders must re-learn the value of a smile or
will be unable to fire up the ability of their
people to find real enjoyment in their work.

THE TROUBLE WITH
BEING IN A RAT RACE IS
THAT EVEN IF YOU WIN THE RACE,
YOU’RE STILL A RAT
to avoid the rat race we must
honor our inner self.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
THINK BIG! ACT BIG! BE BIG!
▪ Be your own best friend and believe in yourself. Don’t
wait for someone to do it for you. Cheer yourself on.

living symbol of their organization’s value

YOUR LIFE IS YOURS TO

MAKE IT ALL IT CAN BE!
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
PEOPLE OF HUMILITY DON’T
THINK LESS OF THEMSELVES,
THEY JUST THINK OF
THEMSELVES LESS
▪A great rule is: Think more
about your people, and they
will think more of themselves.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
IT’S MORE IMPORTANT
AS A MANAGER TO BE
RESPECTED THAN TO
BE POPULAR
People may not like you, but they will remember
you as a leader they respected.
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
INFLUENCE IS AN ART - AND
IT BEGINS WITH THE HEART
OF A LEADER.
IT’S TIME TO LET YOUR HEART SOAR!
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
Maalaala Mo Kaya?
a. Share your thoughts or personal experiences based on
your assigned characteristics of a heart of a leader with the
group.
b. Choose one to present in the plenary your assigned
characteristics of a heart of a leader .

NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
 What are the essentials in ethical leadership? Why is it
important in leadership?
 Why do you think there are school leaders complained by
teachers and parents?
• How do you see yourself in the future as a leader?
Let’s ponder…
NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION
“True leaders understand that leadership is
not about them but about those they serve.
It is not about exalting themselves but
about lifting others up.”

Consider the morals you were raised with: Treat others how you want to be treated, always say “thank you,” help those who are struggling, etc. But as you grow, and as society progresses, conventions change, often causing values to shift. How to become an ethical leader?
  • 17. NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION Ask yourself what matters to you as an individual, and then align that with your priorities as a leader. Defining your values not only expresses your authenticity but also encourages your team to do the same, creating a shared vision for all workers.
  • 18. NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION 2. Hire people with similar values. Kelly believes it’s valuable to hire employees who have different experiences and perspectives, because they each offer their own solutions to challenges.
  • 19. NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION “But when it comes to values, I think having and hiring people who share your values is critical,” he added. “Nobody wants to work for somebody who doesn’t share their values … Without mutual respect, it is very difficult to form a dynamic team, and most people find it very difficult to respect someone who doesn’t share their values.”
  • 20. NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION 3. Promote open communication. Every employee is different, even if they share similarities. With each decision you make, be transparent and encourage feedback from your team. This helps you become a better leader and helps your workers feel more confident sharing their ideas or concerns.
  • 21. NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION 4. Beware of bias. As humans, many of us have beliefs, subconscious or otherwise, that are outdated or erroneous. No leader wants to admit to their flaws, but failure to practice self-awareness can have detrimental consequences.
  • 22. NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION Did you know? If you are an open-minded leader, you will build and maintain better relationships with your workers.
  • 23. NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION 5. Lead by example. To build an ethical company, you must start from the top down. Your employees will see your behavior, choices, and values and will adopt them in their own practices. “To effectively lead, the ethical leader walks the line he or she wants others to follow,” Younger said. “Leading by example is the best way to ensure an ethical business.”
  • 24. NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION 6. Find your role models. “There are many leaders throughout history,” said Mike Sheety, director of ThatShirt. “Do a little research of good, powerful leaders and try to identify what they do [well]. Then, implement it into your own leadership style.”
  • 25. NEAP-R MIMAROPA REGION 7. Care for yourself so you are able to care for others. You cannot pour from an empty cup, as the saying goes. Leaders who take care of themselves are more likely to better manage and care for others.

  1. “ If something is bothering you and you don’t deal with it, you are holding them inside. This can backfire later when you find yourself dumping in an inappropriate way and at exactly the wrong moment. It is also true that if you will deal with what is bothering you, the problem often disappears in the very process”.
