4. DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
• The digestive system is responsible for breaking down food we eat into smaller components so that
nutrients can be easily absorbed by the body and the waste discarded.
Organs that are involved is the digestive system are: The Stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver,
and pancreas
5. SKELETAL SYSTEM
• All the bones in the human body together are called the skeletal system.
• The skeletal system provides strength and protection to our body
• Our bones come together and connect at special places called joints
• Hinge joints allow movement in one direction, as seen in the knees and elbows.
• Pivot joints allow a rotating or twisting motion, like that of the head moving from side to
side.
• Ball-and-socket joints allow the greatest freedom of movement. The hips and shoulders
have this type of joint, in which the round end of a long bone fits into the hollow of
another bone.
6. MUSCULER SYSTEM
• Muscles are how we move and live. All movement in the body is controlled by muscles. Some muscles work
without us thinking, like our heart beating, while other muscles are controlled by our thoughts and allow us
to do stuff and move around. All of our muscles together make up the body's muscular system.
• Tendons connect muscles to bones. Tendons help form a connection between soft contracting muscle cells
to hard bone cells.
There are over 650 muscles in the human body
• Muscles work by expanding and contracting.
• Types of Muscles
• Skeletal Muscles
• Smooth Muscles
• Cardiac Muscle
7. NERVOUS SYSTEM
• The nervous system is made up of the brain, the spinal cord, and a large network of
nerves that covers all parts of the body.
• Together the nervous system helps different parts of our body communicate and
allows our brain to control what is going on.
• There are two main types of nerves: motor nerves and sensory nerves.
8. RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
• The job of your respiratory system is very simple: To bring oxygen into your body, and remove the carbon
dioxide from your body. Your body needs oxygen to survive.
• The main organ is the lungs
• As you breathe in, you fill these sacs with fresh oxygen-rich air.
• Your heart pumps blood into the walls of your lungs where it absorbs oxygen and releases carbon dioxide.
9. IMMUNE SYSTEM
• immune system protects it from diseases and germs.
• The immune system develops all kinds of cells that help to destroy disease causing
microbes. Some of these cells are specifically designed for a certain kind of disease.
All throughout the body, disease fighting cells are stored in the immune system
waiting for the signal to go to battle.
10. CIRCULATORY SYSTEM
• Made up of the heart, blood and blood vessels, the circulatory system is your body’s
delivery system.
• Blood moving from the heart, delivers oxygen and nutrients to every part of the
body
19. GOOD JOB
• Today we learned about some of the human body systems which included the:
• Digestive system
• Skeletal system
• Muscular system
• Nervous system
• Respiratary system
• Immune system
• Circulatory system
• We learned about the major functions and vital parts of these body systems.
