To Whom It May Concern,
AstraZeneca Hope Lodge
I have had the privilege of knowing John Koors since July of 2015 when he came to the AstraZeneca
Hope Lodge Center in Boston in search of volunteer opportunities. The Lodge is a free residential facility
for cancer patients lvho are receiving outpatient treatment in the Boston area.
John began as a reception volunteer, assisting guests with daily issues and projects assigned by staff. He
quickly proved to be a proactive and detail-oriented worker. Showing tremendous compassion for those
we serve and always utilizing his positive nature no matter the circumstance.
In Septernber of 2015, John was hired as a Weekend Manager. This is a part-time employed position that
is the sole onsite coverage for our 40 room facility during weekends and holidays. This role requires a
high aptitude for multi-tasking and customer issue resolution skills. John has proven to be a tremendous
addition to our team. He is attentive to all guest issues and is thorough in his resolution of these matters.
John's detailed communication with Lodge management insures smooth transition between shifts. His
professionalism and positivity is outstanding and has been noted upon by many guests and volunteers.
One of John's most notable assets is his incredible relationship building skills. His positivity gives him a
jumpstart as it relates to connecting with those around him. He maintains those relationships with
remarkable recall of facts and details of previons conversations. John would make a powerful and
motivating manager.
John has been willing to help out in additional areas as well. Since August, he has been filling the role of
our Van Driver on Tuesdays every week. This is a high-stress positon as the driver is managing the time
commitment of guest's appointments and the impact of Boston traffic and weather. He has remained
cahn during rnany difficult situations and provided the highest standard of service possible.
It is with pleasure that I recommend John for this role. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would
like further inforrnation. Thank you.
