2. Since retiring from the U.S. Marine Corps and the FBI,
John Guandolo has founded the counterterrorism
consultancy UnderstandingTheThreat.com and
authored a book entitled Raising a Jihadi Generation.
John Guandolo has also supported his community by
volunteering with the American Red Cross.
In a recent press release, the American Red Cross
discussed its efforts to aid the people in Oklahoma
and Texas who were struck by destructive and deadly
floods and tornadoes. The organization provided
shelter for more than 200 people across the two
states, where extreme weather left thousands of
people with damaged homes and no power.
3. According to the press release, Red Cross
workers delivered 31,000 relief items,
provided 23,000 meals and snacks, and
established 30 shelters in Texas during the
month of May 2015. The organization
expects that its Texas response alone will
require a $3 million financial commitment.
During the flooding, the Red Cross mobilized
almost 700 workers and 22 emergency
vehicles.
