Tesla Motors was founded by a group
of Silicon Valley engineers.
Martin Eberhard was the original
CEO of Tesla until he was asked to
resign in August 2007 by the board
of directors.
Eberhard then took the title of
"President of Technology" before
ultimately leaving the company in
January 2008 along with co-founder
Marc Tarpenning,
who served as the Vice President of
Electrical Engineering of the
company until 2008.
The founders were influenced to
start the company after GM recalled
all its EV1 electric cars in 2003 and
then destroyed them.
4. PRESENT CEO OF Tesla,INC.
• Elon taught himself how to code and
program software,
• and by the age of 12 he sold his first
software--a space game called Blastar--
for about $500
• He left home in 1988 at the age of 17 to
avoid military service in the South
African military as serving to defend
Apartheid was a concern. He moved to
the US.

said later, "One was the Internet, one
was clean energy, and one was space.
• He went on found/co-found PayPal,
Tesla Motors, and SpaceX.
• The CEO Elon Musk is working as CEO
and CTO of SpaceX and as the CEO of
