- It was enacted by the Philippine National
Assembly on December 12, 1935 to create an
independent Philippine Military which requires all
male citizens between 18 and 30 years of age to
undergo training in order to povide a military
service as preservation of the state is the
obligation of very citizen.

7. Presedential Decree No. 1706 also know as
the “National Service Law”
- It was signed by President Ferdinand Marcos on
August 8, 1980. It requires all Filipino Citizens to
render national service in any of the three main
programs namely: (a) civic welfare service, (b) law
enforcement service, and (c) military service.

8. Republic Act 7077 also know as ”The Citizen Armed
Forces of the Philippines Reservist Act”
- It enacted by the 8th Congress of the Philippines on
June 27, 1991 to provide the organization,
administration, training, maintenance and utilization of
the citizen armed forces of the Philippines. In the event
of war, invasion of rebellion, to assist in relief and rescue
during disaster or calamities.

9. This program aimed to enhance civic
consciousness and defense preparedness in
the youth by developing the ethics of
service and patriotism while undergoing
training in any of its three (3) program
components, specifically designed to
enhance the youth’s active contribution to
the general welfare of Filipinos.

THREE COMPONENTS OF
NSTP:

17. All higher and technical-vocational
education institutions must at least offer
one (1) of the NSTP components.
State universities and colleges (SUC’S),
shall offer the ROTC component and at
least one (1) other NSTP component.
Who are covered by the NSTP Law?
18. Private higher education and technical-
vocational education institutions with at
least 350 student cadets, may offer the
component / maintain and consequently
a Department Of Science and Tactics
(DMST), ROTC establish Military subject to
the existing rules and regulations of the
Armed Forces Of The Philippines (AFP).

20. Each of the NSTP components is
undertaken for an academic period of
two (2) semesters and is credited for the
three (3) units per semester with fifty-four
(54) to ninety (90) training hours per
semester.

25. a) To assist in the disaster preparedness, mitigation,
response, and rehabilitation programs.

Coordinating Council (DCC) response units
c) To assist in the promotion of civic welfare

NSRC - Function
28. This area involves disaster preparedness during
fire, earthquake or other calamity that needs
immediate response from any trained civilians during
emergency situations.

29. This area involves enhancement of institutional
support materials and facilities for the community and
school such as providing materials containing basic
literacy skills for pre-schoolers, alternative learning
system for out-of-school youths and adults, mathematics
and science tutorials and extended services of skilled
students.
Education
30. This area involves sports fest, parlor games
for street children and painting that enrich
youth’s capacities to relate with one another in
the community.
Recreation
31. This involves the development of youth to
be good leaders, responsible individuals imbued
with good moral values and active agent of
development of the community.
Values Formation and Moral Recovery
32. This area includes programs and activities
that are vital to economic growth. CWTS students
demonstrate technical skills in communities like
meat processing, silkscreen making and how to
establish small business.
Industry and Entrepreneurship
33. This area aims to give knowledge on
medical-related fields and extend health services
needed in the community. It includes medical
services like first-aid operation, vaccination, info
dissemination, basic life saving seminars, heath /
nutrition technical assistance and training of
youth to be first aid assistants.
Care for Health
34. This area inculcates environmental
awareness and its contribution to health and
related fields. It involves management of waste,
environmental protection, dissemination and
application of technologies supportive of the
community needs and livelihood activities related
to environment and other related fields
supportive of the national thrust.
