“OH THE THINKS YOU CAN THINK”
SEUSSICAL ENCHANTS
STOCKTON’S PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
The wonderful world of Dr. Seuss enchants the stage in Lynn Ahren and Stephen Flaherty’s musical,
Seussical . This whimsical blend of several Seuss stories unfurls before us as the Cat in the Hat guides
and misguides us with his antics. . The tiny world of Whoville is plagued by war and terror, and Horton is
the only one who can help, because he is the only one who can hear the whos in Whoville.
“On the surface, Seussical and the indelible tales the play re-imagines might seem to be child-like, but
nothing could be further from the truth. The collective stories represent some essential part of our
humanity. All of our strengths, frailties, prejudices and courage are the reason why Dr. Seuss has
resonated with so many generations through the years and will continue long after we are all, as Dr.
Seuss calls us, ‘obsolete children.’” –Director Chip Garrison
Seussical will be performed at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey from February 9-12 at
7:30pm and February 13 at 3:00PM with a bonus matinee on February 11 at 10:30am in the Performing
Arts Center. Tickets may be purchased through the Performing Arts Center box office at (609) 652-9000
or online at stockton.edu/pac. Tickets are $8 General Admission or $6 for Seniors and Students of
Stockton and Atlantic Cape Community College.
Dr. Seuss is arguably one of the most famous author/illustrators of children’s books in American history.
His passion to bring out one’s imagination is inevitably portrayed in Seussical. Seussical was created by
Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty who are known for such Broadway successes as Ragtime and Once on
this Island. Seussical opened on Broadway in 2000 and was followed by two successful national tours. It
is now one of the most performed plays in America.
This program has been funded in part through the NJ State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a
partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through the Local Arts Grant administered by the
Atlantic County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs.

the world of Dr. Seuss represent some essential part of our humanity. All of our strengths,
