JOINT SCHOOL-BASED BSP AND GSP CAMP 2023
ACTIVITY DESIGN
I. Program: JOINT BSP AND GSP CAMP 2023
II. Rationale:
Facilitating learning, or the development of knowledge, skills,
attitudes, beliefs, and habits, is what education is all about. Storytelling,
conversation, instruction, training, and guided study are all examples of
educational methods. But academics and classroom activities are only one
aspect of schooling. It focuses on extracurricular activities like athletics and
scouting in addition to reading and writing.
With a strong emphasis on the outdoors and survival skills, Scouting,
also known as the Scout Organization, is a movement that aspires to
encourage young people in their physical, mental, and spiritual development
so that they may play constructive roles in society. The fundamentals of the
Scout technique, Scout Promise, and Scout Law are taught to scouts.
Through a planned schedule of outdoor activities, these are intended to
foster in boys the qualities of character, citizenship, personal fitness, and
leadership. The Scout technique is frequently applied by spending time in
small groups with shared rituals, activities, and experiences while
highlighting responsible citizenship and age-appropriate decision-making.
Key components include encouraging a love and respect of nature and
outdoor activities. Camping, woodworking, first aid, aquatics, hiking,
backpacking, and sports are the main outdoor activities. Scouting is, in this
way, learning by doing and character development via practical experience.
Through DepEd Order 68, s., the Department of Education welcomes
the concepts of scouting in schools, notably at the primary and secondary
levels, notwithstanding the use of informal education with a focus on
practical outdoor activities. Reviving the Boy/Girl Scout Movement in
Schools, 2003. "The Scouting Movement, through the Boy Scouts of the
Philippines (BSP) and the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP), is an effective
program in the development of each child's leadership skills and moral
foundation. The major goal of this program is in line with the department's
mission, which is to support, encourage, and develop boys and girls into
well-rounded, morally excellent people. As of now, the BSP and GSP have
created leaders that uphold the Scout Oath and Law or Girl Scout Promise
and Law.”
A student can learn how to perform community services by
participating in scouting. An academically busy student is also involved in
scouting. They start acting more animatedly and demonstrating enthusiasm
in their schoolwork, particularly in extracurricular activities. They typically
