Kristin Walter and Talis Apud-Hendricks created the FeelGood Organization to raise funds to combat world hunger through selling grilled cheese sandwiches. They started by raising $10,000 at the University of Texas at Austin and have since expanded to 25 college chapters across the U.S., raising over $15 million total. Their goal is to end global hunger by 2030 by allowing students to donate to effective organizations working on sustainable solutions. Through humble beginnings with grilled cheese, they have made significant progress on their ambitious aim.

2. Introduction to World Famine
● Around 800 million people in the world are suffering from the lack of food.
● The majority of the world’s hungry people live in developed and 13.5% of
them are malnourished.
● ⅔ of the entire population of Asia suffers from malnourishment.
● World Famine causes 45% of deaths in children below 5 years old, which
is 3.1 million!

fellow schoolmates to invest charitable donations in organizations.
● They used the humble grilled cheese sandwich to raise funds for World
Famine.
● They raised $15 million in total for charity just by giving people grilled
cheese sandwiches.

● In 2005, two cross country runners at the University of Texas at Austin had
an idea. Inspired by the work of The Hunger Project, they sold Grilled
Cheese Sandwiches in their campus.
● After raising $10,000 in seed capital, they created FeelGood, a nonprofit
that has grown to 25 college chapters across the country and has raised
$1.5 million toward toward the end of global hunger – one sandwich at a
time.
● Their objectives? To try to end world hunger by 2030.
