OBJECTIVE
I am looking to become part of a company or corporation where I can apply my abilities, knowledge
and expertise in the administrative and operational areas to help grow your business.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Federal Mogul (Automotive systems protection products) El Paso, Texas – June, 2012 to May, 2014
Raw material procurement specialist.
Responsibi lities: procuring and expediting raw materials based on MRP requirements and inventory
levels analysis, dealing with domestic and abroad suppliers.
Communicate and collaborate with all levels of organization to accomplish company goals.
o Accomplishments:
o The ERP system used was out dated but functional (MFGPro) . I created a report that was
run on a dai ly basis showing the demand and stock avai lable for each part number in the
inventory. By using this report in combination with the MRP reporting system it helped to
avoid raw material shortages.
o Initially started a project where there were a number of challenges which took approximately
two months to bring up to standard resulting in 100% on time deliveries.
o Maintained above average communications with my supplier base resulting in maintaining
a very good relation with all 53 suppliers under my responsibility. 7 of them were located in
Europe, 1 in Canada and the rest in the United States.
o Before my separation from the company I was working on a project to establish desired safety
stock levels by analyzing behaviors on the demand, supplier performance and cost of
material.
Eagle Brass Southwest (Specialty re-roll Mill) El Paso, Texas – June, 2011 to June, 2012
Re-Roll Mill operator
Operated and maintained metal slitting equipment as well as the reports that were required.
o Accomplishments:
o In this position I was responsible for receiving slitting tasks from the production supervisor,
calculating the machine setup, allocating and moving inventory to machining areas as well
as performing the operations per machine setup.
o I was given the opportunity by management to assist them with inventory analysis, material
use optimi zation, 5S’s implementations and identi fying continuous improvement
opportunities.
2. Global Harness Systems (Specialty Wire Harness Manufacturer) Juarez, MX – Sep, 2004 to Jan, 2011
Materials Manager
Responsible of all aspects of the material flow and maintaining control and accuracy over all goods
inventories, including all transactions, procurement, planning, scheduling, quoting, cost,
warehouse, receiving, shipping (ensure that customer orders are fulfi ll on time), and develop and
manage all supplier relationships.
o Accomplishments:
o I was hired to take over the materials department. At that time the goal was to establish
systems that increased the inventory accuracy which at that moment were non-existent.
This chaotic process was costing the company thousands of dollars for inbound and
outbound premium freight costs.
o Working with purchasing leader, established procedures applying forecasting techniques to
procure raw materials based on usage trends, negotiated cost reductions and incorporated
new suppliers.
o Working with the same stockroom team, we created new work instructions, made stockroom
rules to create a new materials accountabi lity process and put in place a requisition system
to move raw materials out of the stockroom.
o Established an ABC inventory classification system for each part number which included
rearranging the layout of the stockroom. When I left the company the inventory accuracy
was at 90%.
