EXPENSES
Our ever changing society, especially in our educational aspects,
has been developing rapidly over the years and is expected to grow
more and focus on improving its quality for us and for when the future
generation comes.
A very popular example would be The K-12 Basic Education
Program implemented by our former President, Benigno Aquino III
during his term as President and is still being exercised up until today.
INTRODUCTION
Although there are a lot of complaints from Students
whom are participating and participated on the said program
about how heavy their work loads are and how stressful learning
turned out after the program’s implementation.
Seeing Children outside with bags larger than their size
while carrying an attache case on their hands containing all
their essentials for that day like notebooks makes us, our group
feel so pitiful for them.
PROBLEM
But what I tell you that our group has had an idea on how
to ease things up a little bit for our Learners and also for our
Educators and Parents as well?
Our Proposal for The Department of Education to assign
a Uniformed Contribution of Time on Subjects per day
specifically speaking, a maximum of three subjects a day for
four days a week with 140 minutes for the two Major Subjects
including the 10 minute break in between subjects while the
remaining 40 minutes of the 6AM – 12NN Shift shall be allotted
for their Religion Class also, one day will be allotted for their
Physical Subjects MAPEH and EPP.
The same goes with the PM shift.
PROPOSAL
By doing so, will reduce the learner’s load into three books and
notebooks, including their writing materials, a packed snack and water and
other essentials for learning on that specific day. Making their journey to
school safe and makes learning comfortable and comprehending.
Another perk of the implementation of the ‘Three subjects a day
with a ten-minute break in between’ would be the Quality of Education they
can acquire from their Educators. We could not deny the fact that some
public Elementary or even Junior High Schools here in Marikina are over
populated per classroom, though there’s a rule some public schools here
follow wherein the nearest High School to your home must be the one you
should enroll on to avoid the over population of a certain school, but we’re
not saying that they’re allowed to deny a student, No, therefore they transfer
students to the nearest school to their home. Because of the ever growing
population of born Children here in the Philippines, resulting in
uncomfortable and unfocused environment for Students and hard for
Educators to teach and grasp with each and every child in their class
making it hard for both the Student and Teacher to exchange and
comprehend each other.
One of the Educator’s benefit for this Program would be they’ll have more
time for grasping the students and making them understand the given topics without
rushing and without too much pressure from the Fifty – minute allotted time before
The Program will also limit the sections per level to Ten Sections only, still
depending on the school’s capacity, the availability of Educators and Classrooms.
Our Proposal for a change in the system of the K-12 Basic Education
Program is expected to be beneficial for the Learner and Educators’ Health
and The Quality of Education the relationship will produce which can even
be useful for the next generation’s youth.
The Revision of The System of Contribution of Subjects per day to be
Uniformed on Public Schools participating in the K-12 Basic Education
Program in Marikina City, if later then proven successful for the whole City,
be implemented for the rest of the Public Schools participating in the K-12
Basic Education Program in Metro Manila.
We must confess that because of the lack of time, we
weren’t able to conduct even a survey proving our program’s
significance.
But Us, coming from different Public Junior High Schools,
with some of us having little siblings in Elementary level, knows
how much the little kids feel like carrying all the required books
to find out they won’t usually use it, knows how it feels like
squeezing as much topic as there is and comprehending on
each and every one of those while maintaining other lessons
from other subjects for the following day just for it to happen
again on the next day.
