1. Beta Alpha Psi Sends 30 Members to Manhattan
The annual “Meet the Firms” trip gives members the opportunity to network
with the biggest accounting and finance firms in New York City.
ITHACA, NY – Sept. 25, 2017 –With a focus in professional development, each year Beta
Alpha Psi brings members to New York City to meet with executives at notable firms such as
PwC, JP Morgan Chase, and Black Rock. Students who participate in this trip find summer
internships and even full-time jobs. This year on September 14, 30 members of Beta Alpha
Psi traveled to Manhattan for two days of networking.
This trip gave many the opportunity to secure a job or internship. Students were given
exclusive tours and the opportunity to talk with current employees and recruiters. Even those
who walked away with no definite plans, left a good impression and their resume with hiring
managers. Beta Alpha Psi President Nick Pellegrino shared, “This trip is where I was first
introduced to PwC. Today I have a full-time offer with them for when I finish my masters.”
This professional trip started with a bus ride to Manhattan and kicked into full gear as soon as
they arrived. Members were divided based on their career paths and had the opportunity to
meet with firms that aligned with their goals. Ithaca College Alumni who now work at the
firms took time to speak with the members about their current jobs and how they got to where
they are today. Member Charles Mauser shared, “While the long days of networking are
tiring, it gets me excited about my future.”
About Beta Alpha Psi: Beta Alpha Psi is a national accounting, business, and finance honor
society. Ithaca College is home to the Mu Alpha Chapter. The professional organization is
focused on academics, community service, and professional development. Their purpose is to
not only be a resume builder for members, but act as a support network to prepare them to
succeed in the industry.
