Pollution Preventers (4th grade ):
Your Mission: Learn more about what pollution is
and what ways you can help prevent it. Use this
WebQuest to learn more about pollution and
activities you can do every day to help prevent
pollution.
Remember this Earth is ours and it is up to us to
keep it beautiful!
Work in small groups and
create a
presentation/newsletter to
present to K-2nd grade.
Share different ways that
younger “pollution preventers”
can help keep this
Earth beautiful.
Step 1: As a group go to the Resources Page and visit the
links attached to each image.
Step 2: Choose one type of pollution to base your project on.
Step 3: Assign roles and responsibilities: such as presenters,
lead writers, or newsletter designers.
Step 4: Come up with several different ways students can
help pollution prevention.
Step 5: Create a newsletter to share and present to the
younger students. Make sure the newsletter tells about your
type of pollution and what ways you can help pollution
prevention.

Education State Standard 7 for Science “GLE 0407.7.2 Evaluate how
some earth materials can be used to solve human problems and
enhance the quality of life.”
 Objective: The learner will evaluate how earth materials can be used
to solve problems prevention and enhance the quality of life.

 What problems does pollution cause?
 Who does pollution affect?
 What are some ways we can help prevent pollution?
