1. J E S S I H O U S E
OBJECTIVE
My career goal is to secure a position with a stable environment that
focuses on safety as well as teamwork, and will lead to a lasting relationship,
both enjoyable and educational.
EXPERIENCE
2016 - Current Baize Electric Bakersfield, CA
Solar Installer
Electrician’s Appretice.
Took installs from two full days to one day.
As a solar installer, first thing to start the day is to pick up supplies and
head to job site. From there I map out the roof area and drill pilot holes for
lags; and set down mounts and rails. Curently using Fast Jacks and Iron
Ridge. Once rails are on, my crew and I lay out trunk cable and micros,
then run the conduit, pull wire, and tie out junction boxes. Once the roof is
prepped, we set panels. After the roof work, I tie out disconnects
(depending on location and laws) and breakers. Clean up job site.
As an electrical apprentice, I am learning to read plans and the NEC Code.
I can, and have, install lighting fixtures, chandeliers, dimmers, and timers.
Run conduit up to 4" (emt, pvc, rigid, and flex), MC Cable, and home runs.
Understand phases and balancing panels. Dig trenches, move street lights,
install light poles, pull wire, and help troubleshoot.
2015 - 2016 V3 Electric Visalia, CA
Lead Solar Installer
Increased production from one week installs to one day installs.
Trained a crew of inexperienced coworkers.
Increased the level of quality as well as decreased number of failed
inspections on installs dramatically.
I started with a crew with whom the most experienced was one month in.
Trained all three crew members to safely and correctly install solar from
mapping out to the roof electrical. Taught them to map out, how to find
rafters, and how to determine if the mount was in a rafter. Educated them
on how to install trunk cable and micros as well as how to run a single
inverter system. We then covered installing conduit, pulling wire, and tieing
out junction boxes. And finally showed them how to install panels. As this
was piece rate, we then worked on speed. Worked with Snap N Rack, Solar
Edge, Uni Rac, and ground mounts.
