Installation and commissioning technician, Cleveland potash polysulphate plant (Qualter Hall) at boulby
April 2016 to Present
My role is to install and commission a large mineral crushing and screening plant which included belt
conveyors, screw conveyors, bucket elevators and a number of different vibrating screens. I installed and
commissioned 415v 3 phase motors (both drive and vibrating), motor slip detection switches, Tilt switches and
cable pull switches. I also installed stainless steel cable containment both ladder and tray.
Electrical charge hand/stand in supervisor, Cleveland potash treatment plant (Fabricom) at boulby
July 2011 to March 2016
In this role as well as preforming all my normal electrical duties previously with Carillion (see below) I was also
charge hand/stand in supervisor for a group of 12 electricians. I had a responsibility to organise and manage
projects with a large emphasis on safety and gathering risk assessments and method statements via the
computers systems. It is also my roll to obtain permits and liaise with senior management to make sure all
duties are carried out to a high standard and to the client’s specification. I am also in charge of stock control
and ordering parts/materials for forth coming projects.
2. I also installed, maintained and commissioned lighting DB’s which consisted of glanding and terminating SWA
cables, the installation of flood, fluro, LED, bulkhead, emergency twin spots and street lighting (including
lamppost erection) to client’s specification and insuring the IP integrity was maintained. I also fitted PVC dado
trunking throughout the main office block and installed 240v sockets, data outlets (including terminating
hubs) and telephone sockets as well as mentoring a number of trainee employees/Apprentices throughout my
time at ICL
Electrician, Cleveland potash treatment plant (Carillion) at Boulby
July 2009 to june 2011
In this role I replace old ladder rack and cable tray with new. Replace and manufacture all unistrut brackets
(both stainless and GRP) and to refit cables using stainless steel cables ties. I also had the opportunity to gain
experience in working below ground in a confined atmosphere where i carried out periodic lighting and three
phase motor tests and inspections up to 3.3kv, it was also my job to identify and repair all defects Testing
consisted of insulation resistance, earth fault loop impedance and RCD testing, all results were recorded and
logged.
E & I Installation technician, Luctie International (Cordell) in Billingham
August 2007 to july 2009
This was a multi-disciplined job roll across a large acrylic-based product manufacturing site. I was required to
work on a number of different low and medium voltage installations in Zone 0-2 Hazardous Areas. I was also
required to work at heights using a MEWPs/scaffolding and work in confined spaces as well as been required to
fault find and reading electrical drawings. I also installed, tested and commissioned a number of different 110v
instruments. All work was carried out to compEx standards.

I has two roles in this job firstly i was there to help on a large instillation. My duties included installing cable
tray and unistrut as well as tying in cables and glanding and terminating into control panels making sure not to
impair the IP integrity. After that i was moved to the maintenance squad and helped oversee all aspects of
planned preventative maintenance (PPM’s) with in a large chemical manufacturing plant.

This job required me to install a new control panel, tray work and SWA cable for a swing bridge over a canal
lock as well installing solar panels, wind turbines and charging systems to the local lighthouse. This also
included reconditioning/refitting the traffic lights and level crossing barriers systems.

In this job i was required to install tray work and the relative cabling on newly built skids as well as mount JB's,
panels and the testing and installation of small lighting circuits and 240v power circuits. This involved

In this job role i was part of the routine maintenance squad maintaining the lighting and power systems across
five workshops. This included the service and maintenance of a number of cranes and the repair of
transformers and power tools as well installing floodlights and isolator units using the relative electrical
drawings. I also helped test all the work carried out.
