2. 2010
In 2010, Nicki Minaj focused heavily on bright and neon colours in
her outfits. She often matched her hair colour to her clothes and this
style appealed to younger girls as it also reflected her music genre
(bubbly, fun).

She then began to turn towards more natural colours with her hair,
opting for blonde or platinum for the majority of the time. She did
still on occasion use colourful outfits in some performances, but tried
to explore some different fashion choices.
4. 2014
In 2014, Nicki really cut out all of the bright colours and weird outfits
and focused on her music rather than her image. She stuck with more
modest attire and her natural black hair opposed to wearing wigs and
dyeing it crazy colours. She did still experiment with different hair
styles and new types of jewellery. This was when she really started to
become famous and collaborated with people like Beyoncé.
5. 2015
She started to really sexualise herself after this, wearing skimpy
outfits and posing in provocative ways. With the release of her hit
‘Anaconda’ the year before, she decided to embrace the overly sexual
side of herself portrayed in that song and has since become an
ambassador for body positivity amongst women and men.
