Nursing Home Administrator
• Managed and operated 120 bed Skilled Nursing Facility and 48 bed Assisted Living Facility.
• Managed over 19 department managers
• Maintained full occupancy at the skilled nursing facility
• A walk-a-around manager constantly involved on the floor assisting staff with deliverance of
meals, monitoring of care and services being delivered, ensuring compliance with both State and
Federal regulations.
• Increased the acuity in the facility by hiring a new Director of Nursing, adding higher level of
care including but not limited to, increase population of psychiatric patients, trach care, g-
tube patients, potential of in-house dialysis, increase of IV therapy, etc.
• Assisted with complete renovations of two facilities (SNF and ALF), moving from paper
medical records to the start-up of EMR, and moving from Point Click Care to the Matrix
System.
• Assisted with the acquisition of change of ownership from previous owner to current owner
as of July 1, 2015 including but not limited to change of licenses, dealing with AHCA
renewals, local business licenses changes, the department of health inspections, waiver
inspections, etc.

• Administrator for a 120 bed facility-dually certified; Medicare and Medicaid. Also accepting of
Private paying residents and Veterans.
• A walk-a-around manager constantly involved on the floor assisting staff with deliverance of
meals, monitoring of care and services being delivered, ensuring compliance with both State and
Federal regulations.
• Provide/instruct/meet with all staff every two week at mandatory inservice on pay days
discussing continuing educations, survey readiness 365 days a year, and compliance daily.
• Increased census from 84 total beds (licensed beds 120) occupied to a steady 115 during tenure.
Medicare census was an average of eight, and now the average is twelve. Hired
A new Marketing/Admissions Director to help increase the census and market to the area
Community and area Hospitalist.
• Cut costs to venders, and began increasing the bottom line. A large part of this control was
Controlling the overstaffing and the overtime.
• Survived three major hurricanes with a direct hit to the facility. No evacuations,
And no ACHA citations during inspections pre and post hurricane preparation/disaster.
• Increased the acuity of patient care, by offering more services to the facility for patient
needs (KCI wound vac, dialysis, wound care therapy, IV therapy, behavioral management,
Neuropsychological service, Hospice census of an average of 18)
• Manage a total of sixteen department managers and 198 staff members, while overseeing
The management and finances of the Assisted Living Facility connected to our facility.
Excellent track record with AHCA inspections both annual and complaint surveys. 5STAR rated facility
since June of 2009 to current.
• Negotiated contracts and services with vendors to provide services for the facility
(liability insurances, property insurance(saving the corporate office 40K), hospice, new roof,
new copier machines, new pharmacy, landscaping, litigations, settlement claims, new air
conditioners,
• New fire alarm replacement (AHCA Plans and Construction), successfully completing this project
with AHCA Plans and Construction division within 10 months receiving final approval.
• Oversee the Assisted Living Facility, Pine Grove Manor, with support, guidance, and corporate
support for inspections, marketing, budgeting, and overall managerial operations of the facility.
• Given the Silver Crown Award in March 2011 given recognition as being one of the nation’s “Top
Senior Professionals.” This recognition was published in the March 2011 magazine edition of Case
in Point, which is a magazine that is distributed to over 500, 000 case managers nation wide.
• Edgewater Manor received an Honorable Mention award in 2011 by “Case in Point” which was
A national recognition award for the facility. This was also recognized by Florida Health Care
Association.
• 2010 Administrator of the Year for Bortz Healthcare Corporation
• Successfully completed and participated in Department of Labor audit during the year of 2012
with corporate legal, Department of Veteran Affairs, and the facility.
• Facility was chosen for AHCA 2014 Quality Symposium in New Orleans for Reduction of Anti-
Psychotic medications and Poster Presentation was selected by AHCA.
• Participated in the acquisition of transfer of ownership from Bortz Healthcare to new ownership
of Villa Healthcare/EMI/SMJ Healthcare. This acquisition started in January 2015 ending in June
30, 2015. Assisted with legal notifications, transfer of documentation and education to staff,
family, and residents.
