A line is a path of a point moving through
space. It is considered by most to be the most
basic element of art.

Vertical lines -lines that move up and down
without any slant.

the horizon

9. What is a shape?
An element of art that is a two-dimensional area
that is defined in some way. A shape may have
an outline around it or you may recognize it by its
area.

11. Geometric Shapes
Are characterized by simple
rectilinear or curvilinear lines.
They are shapes that generally
have their own names such as
square, circle, and oval.

12. Organic Shapes
Are characterized by being more
free flowing, natural shapes.
Organic shapes do not have
their own name.

color?
Comes from the three different
primary and the black and
white. They have three
properties: hue, value, and
intensity Color theory is
defined as a theory because it
cannot be proved.

developed by Sir Isaac
Newton by taking the color
spectrum and bending it
into a circle.
