Teacher at Sacred Heart: 1991- present. I have taught a variety of subjects
including A.P. U.S. history, A.P. Western Civilization, U.S. history, world
history, psychology, and a current events class in my 22 years at this school.
Activities
Kentucky Youth Assembly (KYA) 1993-2005. K.Y.A. is a three-day student-run
model of the Kentucky State General Assembly. Students become aware of the Kentucky
Legislative process through debating self-authorized bills in the House and Senate
chambers in the state capitol in Frankfort. I was in charge of this program for 13 years.
Kentucky United Nations (KUNA) 1994-2004. K.U.N.A. is a three-day student-run
model United Nations conference geared toward developing students’ international
consciousness through role-play. I was in charge of this program for 11 years.
Field Days
Senior Field Day: 1991- 2010. I took over these field days and have continued
the tradition of giving the seniors a day of fun on their last day of school
Freshman Field Day: I began this field day in 1995 to establish a more welcoming
atmosphere for our newest students.
Sophomore Field Day: I began this field day in 2004 to help with the retention of
our students who may want to switch schools. The idea was to give the students
more fun activities so that they would be more inclined to return to Sacred Heart.
Dances
Sophomore Dance: I began this dance in 1995 to establish the Jana Oliver
Scholarship Fund.
Freshman Dance: I began this dance in 2004 because the Freshmen were not
allowed to attend the NHS and so they wanted their own dance.
Retreats
Senior Retreats: I have led ten of these retreats.
Freshman Retreats: I have led several of these retreats.
Sophomore Retreat: I have led one of these retreats.

2. Personal
o I have been married for 23 years to a blind woman who is a county
attorney
o I have participated in the mini-marathon for twelve years and have
competed in five Ironman triathlons
o I have three teenagers who are in high school and college.
o I have been active with my church, having been a lector for 8 years, a
leader for Vacation Bible School for 4 years, and scheduler of the altar
servers for 2 years.
