3. Journeying Together
Pope Francis has initiated the two-year
global consultation process leading to the
2023 Synod on Synodality last October 10,
2021 in Vatican. This urged us to redirect
our educational journey aligning to the call
of the theme: “For a Synodal Church:
Communion, Participation, and Mission”.
4. Journeying Together
Let us journey together as one AVCPS
family where no one is left alone and
abandoned due to:
(1) “unhealthy cliques”
which is defined as excessive
togetherness that can be harmful and
damaging because an individual is not
meeting new people or expanding their
sphere of friendships,
5. Journeying Together
(2) “unhealthy isolation”
which can be described as a state
of being in a situation that is
separated from others or feeling of
shame and a tendency to self-isolate
in order to hide the behaviors that
can result in loss of social support,
6. Journeying Together
(3) “unhealthy mindset”
which can be defined as a common vice
where we struggle to get rid of, like
acknowledging the negative thoughts,
establishing the root cause, taking
responsibility, fighting, self-doubt, second-
guessing and needing approval that can make
us very unproductive.
7. Evangelized and evangelizing communities
We have to make a relentless effort to
evangelize ourselves first to be called as
effective evangelizers. We need to do the
process of introspection which is the
examination or observation of one’s mental,
emotional and spiritual processes because having quiet introspection can be
extremely valuable. The world is too noisy and restless that’s why we need to find
a quiet space in order to listen to God carefully and discern what is His message for
us. If we know how to listen to His voice, I assure you, you can be a very inspiring
evangelizer.
8. Evangelized and evangelizing communities
Introspection, as defined by Stanford
Encyclopedia, is also a term which means
learning about one’s own currently ongoing
or perhaps very recently past, mental states
or processes. It can also be a great sourceof
personal knowledge, enabling you to better recognize and understand what you are
thinking and feeling. This leads to a higher level of self-awareness, which can help
promote mental health and increase our happiness. (Verywellmind.com). The
challenge is, we just simply have to get in touch with ourselves so that others can
relate to us and believe on what we are talking and preaching.
12. Where minds and hearts meet.
“My wish is that, one day, formal education will pay
attention to the education of the heart, teaching love,
compassion, justice, forgiveness, mindfulness, tolerance
and peace. This education is necessary, from
kindergarten to secondary schools and universities. I
mean social, emotional and ethical learning. We need a
worldwide initiative for educating heart and mind in
this modern age.”
