HSBC bank has its major presence in Europe and our team of 13 members is responsible
for ensuring that the bank runs smooth in Europe i.e. run the Bank project for more than 20 countries
within Europe supporting more than 200 applications.
Level 1 team which sits in Sheffield does the 24 by 7 supports, firefighting and provide
temporary fixes for all the issue for all those countries. If there are issues in the applications that require
detailed in depth analysis to find out permanent solution, then the ticket is passed on to our team via the
TR system.
Based on the criticality of the issue, they are classified as high or medium or low priority.
High has a SLA of 2 days, Medium has a SLA of 5 days and Low has SLA of 15 days. Then we have to
analyse the issue, do the coding, test the fix and release it properly. Errors may occur during daily night
production batches.

Business Layer : RPGLE, CLLE, SQL RPG and MQ series.

Technical Role:
Analysis and Estimation of time and effort requirements for fixing the bug and testing.

Maintenance of Effort tracking sheet, defect sheet etc.
Knowledge Transfer -Involved in carrying out many Knowledge Transfer session for the project
team. Thus, responsible for building the skill set in the team.
Managing Onsite – Offshore Interaction: With an onsite – offshore team structure, interaction
between the teams is of utmost importance. Coordinate the meetings, by having fortnight status

HSBC has lot of premier customers. These customers wants to ensure that the payments they
make in live is perfect by testing the payments in beforehand. So we test their high value (Cross
currency/Cross border payments) and Low value payments. This is one of the high sensitive projects which
have a SLA of only 1 day. So it requires all our expertise in getting the issue resolved immediately.
Technical Role:
Interact directly with the Bank Person/customer who wishes to perform testing that includes
MT101, MT103, MT940, MT942 and MT999.
To ensure that the environment is in proper shape to conduct the testing.
To distribute work request among associates and take full responsibility for the results.
Ensure that the payment achieves STP (Straight through processing).
Advise the test results to the customer that includes any modification in the payment.

payment related fixes and enhancements.
Technical Role:

period of 10 years and extract the data that the regulators look for and provide answers for various other
questions
Role & responsibilities:
To ensure timely delivery of reports and extractions such that the details are provided within the
deadline time.
To ensure that the data is masked such that the customer identity is protected.
To ensure that the data provided is accurate.
Technical Role:
Restore data from the historical data and merge them.
Write extraction program to extract the data based upon the condition given by the customer.
Export them to excel and send it in protected format.
Additional Responsibilities:
To ensure that the ASP of the development server is kept under control as these data are
vast. Repeat this work for other countries if the regulators request for it. Provide explanation about the
extraction to the person who handles the regulatory work.
