2. Problem
Emergency situations arise in classrooms, and people must be
reached and accounted for.
Haste dangerously occurs everyday in classrooms as students are
seated.
Anonymity results when students/educators don’t recognize
people in class settings.
Study groups cannot always find adjacent seating.
Networking is difficult to achieve without repetitive interactions with
the same people, resulting in disconnect from the community.
Vision & Hearing problems disable students as proximity from the
educator increases.
Segregation is preferred in some cultures amongst the males and
females in schools and this needs to be enforced.
3. Solution
Seating will be optimally arranged for all parties
via our web application!
Student lecture seating selection & reservations, resulting in… Assigned student seating configurations!
4. Business Model
We lease our technology to post-secondary institutions for $1000
per semester.
We charge a $1000 set-up fee upon school registration.
We are currently pursuing our local schools with a one time free
trial year (set-up fee not waived)offer to get familiarized with our
technology.
5. Underlying Magic
We will incorporate Websockets, Node.js, Socket.io, React, and React
Native technology into the technical aspects of our new innovative service!
We will require classroom schematics from the post-secondary
institutions which we will then integrate into our technology! The
students simply enter the course code to access reservations on our
web application. The students will not be able to see the names of their
peers that is only accessible via admin privileges such as educators!
6. Marketing & Sales
Our marketing strategy:
1) Presenting the First Seat Academics system to post-secondary institutions
successfully.
2) Promoting the First Seat Academics system to students at the beginning of
each semester via:
-the course registration protocol
-educator’s course introductory presentations
-the course syllabus
We will be offering our services on a trial basis for one lecture hall for one
semester for POC of our MVP!
Our key marketing point: Increased emergency response time and accuracy will
make our technology INTERNATIONALLY MANDATORY!
We are offering the service of male/female seating segregation to cultures where
this is sought.
7. Competition
Our team has not
found a competitor
in all of our
research. The
closest business
model to ours we
found was
Fandango’s which
books reservations
for movie theatre
seats.
8. Financial Projections and
Key Metrics:
We will lease our existing technology to at least two post-
secondary institutions per major city in North America (75),
then The World (3000+)! We plan to lease the technology for
$1000 (first year free trial) per semester (+$1000 set-up fee)!
We project to sign 4 schools in our first year:
4 schools x $1000 = $4000
We project to sign 10 schools in our second year:
10 schools x $3000 + $6000 = $36K
2 schools x 75 cities x $1000 = $150,000 for N.A./semester
2 schools x 3000 cities x $1000 = $6M for The World/semester
9. Additional Value
Accurate and Faster Emergency Response Times.
Students are prompted to register as a first aid respondent if they are certified and are seated accordingly!
Eased premeditated traffic flow of students.
Educator-student recognition over time.
Study group adjacency!
Neighbours formed at adjacent desks.
The first two rows of seating will be reserved for Vision & Hearing impaired.
Students can book adjacent seating for their baggage or a tutor for a premium fee to the post-secondary institution!
We are conducting a study to see if grades are associated with classroom seating orientation in relation to the educator!
Our explanation for the objection of our seating system being unsatisfactory is that this model currently works for sports
events/concerts/entertainment events/etc.
Strangers will be noticed in classrooms when students become aware of a new arrival into the class arrangement or they
accidentally sit in someone's pre-assigned seat!
School security personnel will be able to identify students on classroom security video footage if this footage ever needs to be
reviewed!
