needs, whilst ensuring you are aware and understand the requirements of relevant
standards, good working practice and manufacturer’s recommendations.
Fire Risk Assessment
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety)
Order 2005, there is so much to consider
that it is hardly surprising that only 1 in 10
managers, landlords and managing agents
are fully aware of what is required of them
by Law. We have industry leading
experienced fire risk assessment
consultants who undertake FRACS
accredited fire risk assessments. All our
assessments are undertaken by specialist
consultants with a minimum of 20 years
fire industry experience.
As a Tyco client you will receive a
comprehensive Fire Risk Assessment that
will ensure that in your role as a
responsible person you will:

assessment that meets government
guidelines
■ Be aware of any corrective actions/staff
training/emergency action requirements
■ Become confident and knowledgeable
when liaising with fire service
personnel

British, European and ISO standards now
mandate a fan integrity test to determine
the ‘hold time’ for all new gaseous fire
extinguishing systems.The standards also
call for rechecking of enclosures, at least
every 12 months, to establish that
building/services changes that take place
have not compromised the effectiveness
of the gaseous fire protection.
’Tyco's in house computer software
evaluates leaks and determines hold time
characteristics.’
Condition Monitoring
Automatic Doors, Gates & Barriers
To reduce the risk of litigation posed by
accidents to pedestrians from crushing
zones on electrically powered doors,
gates and barriers, Tyco Fire & Integrated
Solutions can provide a detailed safety
report on any of these types of doors.
Our safety audit is designed to meet the
BS EN 12453:2001 requirements and
includes the results from a “Door Impact
Test using a calibrated, compliant force
test gauge” and an analysis of potential
hazards, situations and events.
5. Our Tyco Care Agreement Philosophy
Fortunately, no matter how your fast
response requirement evolved, Tyco Fire &
Integrated Solutions have an unparalleled
track record of rapidly solving every rapid
response requirement imaginable.
Each regional office can provide clients with
its own list of “Fast Response Facts,” its
geographical and postcode coverage, and
performance tables to illustrate its local
capability. From the moment we commence
work on your project, we provide you with
“Complete Peace of Mind”.
Our Engineers provide detailed reports on
work-in-progress as part of our Key
Performance Indicator management
programme. These reports provide our
customers with physical evidence that
their project is developing to the
time-scale agreed.
Our management systems are so precise
that they can illustrate at a glance how many
fast response contracts our engineers within
the various regions respond to. For example,
over a typical 12 month period 50% of our
regional offices have each completed over
650 fast response contracts whilst some of
the larger regional offices have completed in
excess of over 1,000 contracts.
Tyco Fast Response Facts
speak for themselves
Our fast response fire protection team
specialise in projects involving extensions,
refurbishments, product supply and
commissioning and installation of new
small to medium sized contracts on
budget, on time, every time.
Fuel Testing
The impact of Bio Diesel Fuel Legislation
on UK industry and commerce is having
an adverse effect on Diesel Driven Power
Plant. Bio Diesel is a perfect ‘growth
media’ for micro-organisms and leads to
blocked fuel filters and biologically induced
corrosion. Tyco can now clean
contaminated fuel tanks and install a
patented device to Diesel Driven Plant to
eradicate Bio Diesel Fuel Contamination
and safeguard the ‘Business Continuity’
of our customers.
Other Condition Monitoring
Services include:
■ Head Sampling/Testing
Our in-house product team will take a
sample of heads from your premises
and thoroughly inspect and test them
in specialist test rig, a formal report
will be compiled and issued to you for
review. Head testing is a requirement
of all BSEN and global design
standards
■ Tank Inspections
Sprinkler tanks require formal inspections
at regular intervals, we provide both
traditional drain down and access
inspections; and modern automated
techniques which do not need the tank
to be drained
■ Fire Pump Servicing
Fire pumps are the heart of sprinkler
systems, and a proactive approach to
pump maintenance will save long term
costs. We service electrical motor and
diesel engine units and can offer full
technical advice based upon
manufacturers recommendations, and
our experience not just the requirements
of standard
■ Earth Bonding
Our qualified electricians will not only
review and check electrical equipment
within the pump house, but they can
check the sprinkler system is earth
bonded throughout
■ Foam Concentration Test/Replacement
Foam concentrate does deteriorate
and to ensure your system continues
to adequately protect your facility we
can test the quality of your foam by
sampling the concentration and
providing a fully detailed report, with
guidance, on quality level
Remote Condition Monitoring
Our Remote Condition Monitoring Service
provides ‘Risk Mitigation’ by trend analysis
of all logged alarms. For example, on our
waterbased systems, weekly testing can
also be remotely monitored by our
engineers reducing emergency call outs
and plant down time. System leaks can be
pre-empted by counting the frequency of
Jockey Pump Operation.
For our Fire Detection & Alarm customers
we utilise GPRS/SM and telephone lines
or the internet from reputable
communications providers such as Redcare
and DualCom. This enables us to provide
our customers with an alarm or fault
monitoring service through our Tyco Alarm
Receiving Centre.
For customers using MZX Fire Detection
& Alarm systems on complex multi-site
locations, we can offer MXRemote
Communications Software technology.
MXRemote is a software tool which allows
direct communication with the MX panel or
site system from a remote location.
It connects a PC to the MX panel via a serial
data link, modem or IP network interface.
The PC then acts like a fully functional
repeater panel providing all the features
available to a technician attending site.
Remote diagnostics by our trained
technicians means that expert advice can
be available 24 hours a day, speeding up
repair times and often removing the need
for a site visit altogether. MXRemote can
also be used onsite as a fully functional fire
alarm “repeater on a PC”.
