Managing Director, David Murfitt. With service centres
across the UK, Fire Safety Services provides national
and local coverage to many clients from a diverse
range of business sectors. The company headquarters
is in Kempston, Bedford.
“My career in the fire safety industry began nearly 30
years ago, when I started as a fire extinguisher sales and
service engineer in the early 1980s. From here I went
into direct sales and progressed to managing a major
service centre for a large plc. I saw a fantastic
opportunity to build a fire protection business, based on
the provision of excellent products, service and added
value from highly qualified personnel.”

5. Fire Doors & Passive Protection
Fire Safety Services carry out Fire door inspections
and provide you with a report to determine what is
required for your doors to comply with the Regulatory
Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Additional services
include: fire door repairs and replacements, fire
stopping, integrity testing and sealing.
Fire Training
Our training courses are run by our own trainers and
certificates of attendance are awarded to all delegates.
Courses include: fire safety awareness, fire warden,
practical fire extinguisher and single delegate training.
Fire Evacuation
We are qualified to meet all fire evacuation
requirements. Services include: fully documented fire
emergency evacuation plans, monitored and
documented on-site fire drills and fire evacuations, and
evacuation chairs supply and user training.
Dry Risers & Fire Hydrants
Fire Safety Services provides scheduled maintenance
and testing to wet and dry rising fire mains, and fire
hydrants in accordance with BS9990. Fire brigade
equipment can also be supplied.
Portable Appliance Testing
Fire Safety Services offers portable appliance testing
(PAT) services, including remedial works.
