Since April 2000, WiredGov has been the news alert channel of choice for UK government and public sector senior
management, policy makers and officials, delivering official ‘must have’ news direct to their desk tops, personally filtered
and precisely when they need it.
The service was born out of an explicit Cabinet Office requirement for more efficient and timely dissemination and delivery
of government news direct to the desktops of the Government Secure Intranet community and wider public sector.
We pride ourselves on providing the personal touch in all that we do, whether liaising directly with our ever increasing
registered user base, optimising stakeholder communications or adapting client campaigns for our pan-governmental
communities.

Digital by Government Demand
In November 1999, we successfully tendered for and won a framework agreement with the Office of Government
Commerce (OGC) to digitally deliver ‘must have news and information’ to the Government Secure Intranet (GSI) community
and wider public sector.
In April 2000, the WiredGov web site and email alerting service was launched in partnership with Central Office of
Information (COI), Cabinet Office Agency responsible for Government’s Marketing and Communications.
In May 2000, the WiredGov alerting service became the subject of a royalty based newsfeed arrangement and revenue
share with COI, within which it was agreed that the service would be free to all public sector/3rd sector/national media
registrants.
In exchange for the free delivery service across government and the media, WiredGov was able to launch the first ever
public sector ‘permission-marketing’ model, embedding an exclusive sponsorship message per day within the official news
alert service to be delivered to the Government Secure Intranet (GSI) community and wider public sector.
Permission-Marketing
As a ‘Trusted Third Party’ channel to Government, the WiredGov alert service operates a permission-marketing model,
embedding the daily sponsor’s message within all requested email alerts to our registered subscriber communities across all
public sector verticals.

Being able to track subscriber activity, married to direct feedback and enquiries from our registered users, enables us
to specifically target sponsors best positioned to address the public sector ‘hot topics’ of the moment. All sponsors are
