PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
PSL-I TEEN 8/20/2007 – Present
Strongsville Branch Library, Cuyahoga County Public Library
Duties include:
Head of Teen Department reporting to the Branch Manager.
Co-Supervisor of Page Department. Responsibilities include daily supervision of 7 pages.
Also responsible for all page schedules and timecards.
Providing reference and readers’ advisory to public, with emphasis on services to teens,
which includes active participation in both What to Read Live on-line readers’ advisory
services.
Maintaining Teen collection for branch.
Coordinating outreach service with local school system and community, including book
discussion groups, summer reading club and other programming.
Developing and maintaining programming for teens, which includes two teen volunteer
groups: Just 4 U Student Friends and High School Volunteers.
Partnering with Adult and Children’s Departments to develop collaborative
intergenerational programming.
Planning and participating in system-wide CCPL initiatives, including Reconnect With
Reading, Health and Wellness Committee, Genre Fair, Choose to Read, Generation Next
and Gaming in the Library. I have also served as a mentor for two practicum students
and am currently mentoring a fellow teen librarian.
