Need To Apply For The

South African Citizens
Your registration form that
has been completed
A certified copy of your
identity document (ID) OR
birth certificate
If you have already written
the adult exam, you must
provide proof of the
examination numbers

5. When Can I Register For An
Amended Senior
Certificate?
You can register for the Senior
Certificate Amended or Adult
Matric course any time of the
year at Matric College.
Registration at Matric College is
different from registration for the
adult exams. You will first
register with us and then
register for the exams with the
Department of Basic Education
when registration for the
examination is open.
6. What Are The Amended Senior
Certificate Subjects
You can choose 6 subjects to write
in the adult exams.
7. How Do I Choose My Subjects?
This depends on why you want to
complete your Senior Certificate
(Amended). You may do so for the
following reasons:
I want to make my CV look
good
I want a better pass level
I want to enter a specific
course at tertiary level
8. How Many Subjects Do I Need To
Pass The Amended Senior
Certificate?
You need to pass 5 out of the 6 subjects to get
your Senior (Amended) Certificate. This is what
your results should look like:
3 subjects with 40%. One of these subjects should be
an official Home Language
2 subjects with 30%. One of these subjects should be
a First Additional Language or Home Language
You are allowed to fail 1 subject. The minimum
percentage you can get for this subject is 20%
