Ø Observe changes in patients’ conditions and report any alarming changes in condition to charge
nurse
Ø Follow cardiac and respiratory monitor readings such as EKG and O2 stats and communicate
observations

Ø Obtain patient information during the admission process prior to surgery, make sure patient is
inform and understands the procedure, and paying special attention that all informed consents
are signed
Ø Obtain vital signs of patients and properly record to ensure readiness for surgical procedure and
initiate IV’s and check for patency
