Ministry of health services pakistan and
specialised medical and health care department provide all health
facilities and rights to patients without any discrimination .
More ever it acknowledge the patients rights and responsibilities during
their treatment and expect to fulfil responsibilities assigned to them.

Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination
is committed for helping the people of Pakistan to maintain and
improve their health and to make our population among the
healthier in the region.
What does “patient safety” mean to you?
Patient safety is an integral component of health care job . we
are used to assess their general health, diagnose any disease
or condition, and guide treatments. But I believe that there is
much more to patient safety than oversight of the internal lab
processes around sample analysis and producing results. . The
lab has a role to play in every aspect of this pathway. It’s up to
us to ensure that all the steps in the sample journey are carried
out correctly and in line with proper standards and guidelines.
Each process carries a risk of error, so a key aspect of patient

Ongoing staff training and engagement is a key element, so we’re
continuing to work on it by providing regular training and promoting
open discussions about overall improvement.

and protected by health
facility towards patients
and their families.
01-GETTING HEALTH CARE
● Provide the patient with the right treatment and
right care at the right time without discrimination
to race religion believe creed and sex and
language or disability
● Ensure that patient or his or her legal guardian
are fully aware and clearly informed about the
case and health status in understandable
language
● Must properly train or have an appropriate
mechanism to educate them with their medical
condition
● Right to information: Every patient has the right to
know what is the illness that they are suffering, its
causes, the status of the diagnosis (provisional or
confirmed
02-PRIVACY AND
CONFIDENTIALITY
● Discuss the patient problem with
thier guardian confidentially
● Maintain the patient information
confidential
● Refuse to see not concerned
providing the health services
● Have seperte male and female

data and to maintain patient report

● To be able to identify care providers with their name and designation
● To be provided with complete information concerning their diagnosis,
treatment, and prognosis. When it is medically inadvisable to give such
information to a patient, the information is provided to a person
designated by the patient or to a legally authorized person

refuse about treatment
● Inform to patient other treatments in case he or she
refuse to to take treatment

● Have right to refuse any treatment that is not understood

pathologist or physician is responsible

08-Complaints and suggestion
❖ Patient have right to file or regstre a complaint verbally or
written form
❖ Patient have also right to give suggestion and there must
be satisfaction certificate taken from patient so that to
improve in our system
❖ Deal with patients complaints and satisfy them as soon as
possible.
09-Child patient rights
● Specialized medical team should examine and treat
child.
● Deal with the child patient with more care and love
and kindness
● Medical team should avoid violence on childeren
● Special policy to treat with child from all kind of
harm
● Avoid isolating of child patient unless it is medically
Patient responsibilities
★ Respect tha dignity and privacy of other patients
★ Must follow lab rules and regulations
★ Must Share their financial condition and health insurance
★ Avoid smoking and bullying in health area and non health area
★ To preserve all record of medical treatment.
★ To make sure the completing of payment after treatment or
test.
★ To treat with the all staff with rerspect and dignity
★ To be punctual to attend the treatment on time
➔ Must follow lab instruction or any health care institute instruction
diligently
➔ Presenting proper personal identification and give proper
informations about health of patient and medical condition
➔ Notify the person about lack of information
➔ Respect the privacy of patient and staff.
➔ Take necessary preventive measure in case to prevent from infectious
➔ Using the facility and equipment in health facility safely and curely
➔ Observing safety and security regulation facility and management.

More ever it acknowledge the patients rights and responsibilities during their treatment and expect to fulfil responsibilities assigned to them. Patient safety is an integral component of health care job . we are used to assess their general health, diagnose any disease or condition, and guide treatments. But I believe that there is much more to patient safety than oversight of the internal lab processes around sample analysis and producing results. . The lab has a role to play in every aspect of this pathway. It’s up to us to ensure that all the steps in the sample journey are carried out correctly and in line with proper standards and guidelines.
