These Strategies are emailed out to staff to try in their lessons.

1. The Penrice Experience
Exploiting objectives
• Word shuffle – put objective on board but with words in wrong order
• Word delete – put objective on board but with some words missing
• Word excess – put objective on board with additional unnecessary
words included and ask pupils to delete those they consider to be
superfluous
• Word focus – underline most important word in the objective and get
pupils to use in a sentence of their own devising
• Red herrings – three objectives for lesson but only one of them is the
real deal
