Introduction: Father Bam
The following sentences will be said: Emma Campbell
The eternal God is your refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an
end; they are new every morning.
Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived what God
has prepared for those who love him.
We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will
bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. Therefore comfort one
another with these words.
The priest will continue: Father Bam
The Lord be with you
And also with you
Let us pray
Lord, have mercy
Lord, have mercy
Christ, have mercy
Christ, have mercy
Lord, have mercy
Lord, have mercy
3. Sung by Father Bam, with music by Ferdi Geyer
Our Father in heaven
Hallowed by your Name
Your kingdom come
Your will be done
On earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
And deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
Now and forever. Amen
Almighty God, neither death nor life can separate us from your love: with the whole company of the
redeemed in heaven and earth we praise and magnify your glorious Name, Father, Son and Holy
Spirit, one God, blessed forever.
Amen
A tribute will be delivered: Natasha Campbell
Psalm 90 is read: Johanna (Nosky) Sejake
A lesson is read from the Gospel of Saint John, chapter 14, verses 1-7: Tsholofelo (Lydia) Sejake
A sermon will be preached: Father Bam
The prayers will be said: Father Bam & Lay Minister Lynn Sly
Eternal God and Father
Whose love is stronger than death
We rejoice that the dead as well as the living
Are in your love and care;
And as we remember with thanksgiving, Trudie
And all who have gone before us in the way of Christ
We pray that we may be counted worthy to share with them the life of your kingdom
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
Lord Jesus, you spoke words of comfort to your friends Martha and Mary in their hour of sorrow. Give
consolation and courage to those who mourn today, and may they find their peace and hope in you,
the Resurrection and the Life, for your tender mercies’ sake.
Amen
Lord Jesus Christ
You are the image of the invisible God
The first born from the dead;
In you we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins
Keep us firm in the faith
Setting our hearts on things above
So that, when you appear we too may appear with you in glory.
Amen
4. To God the Father, who loved us, and made us accepted in the Beloved:
To God the Son, who loved us, and loosed us from our sins in his own blood:
To God the Holy Spirit, who sheds the love of God abroad in our hearts:
To the one true God be all love and all glory for time and for eternity.
Amen. Alleluia
The Pronunciation: Father Bam
Musical interlude: Ferdi Geyer
5. Tributes
Ann
As I prepared for this Memorial Service which is a celebration of Trudie’s life, I realized how
important it was to remember my mum before Alzheimers took hold firstly of her mind and in
the last year her body as well before she bid farewell to planet earth aged 101 years. The
photo in front was taken at her birthday tea at St Martins when she turned 99 years old with
both myself and Margie her hairdresser and Guardian Angel when I was away. As a only child
Trudie was both my mum and friend – for which she had to walk around on her knees to
equal my height. She was always there to support me through 42 years of teaching ballet with
numerous shows and exams and even more importantly being so very much part of my family
life. Certainly her greatest test of fame of being so wonderful was spending 20 years with our
family on our Irene property where she maintained both our admiration, respect and love
throughout.

Many people winced when I said my mother-in-law was coming to stay with us in Irene in
November 2000. I did not and I was certain about that. Over twenty-years later I reflect that
Trudie brought an additional vital and loving dimension to all who lived and worked at 9
Lotus Lane and all were blessed because of this. She often fed us when we were hungry,
helped-out Ann with innumerable ballet events and was a wonderful caring grandmother to
Tyler, Natasha, Emma, Nosky and Lydia. Trudie was in fact the perfect mother-in-law, a most
gracious, generous and beautiful lady, and I could not have wished for better. May her dear
soul rest in peace.
Tyler
Some of my fondest and earliest memories are of Trudie and her endless patience and
kindness. Trudie not only my gran, but also one of best childhood friends. From playing golf
in the garden, playing in her vegetable garden with her feeding me carrots as her pet rabbit to
her playing the damsel in distress as I rescued her from make believe monsters (usually the
large bush near the pool) which I would mercilessly beat with a stick as Trudie would play
along, cheering me on.
She would collect me after school meeting me with freshly baked goods and other amazing
treats. We would bake together, and read stories together which would be the highlight of my
days after school.
Although I moved away and lost contact for many years, the memories made and lessons
learnt from Trudie have stuck with me always. Her kindness, never a bad word to say about
anyone and her laugh. I will miss her dearly, but am so grateful and privileged to have known
her. If we could all strive to be a little bit more like Trudie, the world would truly be a kinder
and better place.
6. Emma
You know, the ancient Egyptians had a beautiful belief about death. When their souls got to the
entrance to heaven, the guards asked two questions. Their answers determined whether they were
able to enter or not. 'Have you found joy in your life?' 'Has your life brought joy to others?' The
Bucket List.
Trudie found the joy and humor in every situation whether it be a happy occasion or in the trying
times. Even as she aged she would say, "old age would be tragic if it weren't so darn funny."
Trudie also truly bought much joy to others. I always saw Trudie as a positive role model who
personally bought so much joy to me. Some of my fondest memories include baking cookies or
Christmas cake together, getting knitted toys for Christmas, being told bedtime stories of the children
on the island, having long and deep conversations over our dinners together, watching and singing
along to The Sound of Music and exchanging what we liked to call butterfly kisses.
I will greatly miss Trudie but I will never forget the impact she has had on me or the joy and love she
has bought to my life.
Nosky
There is a lot I can say about Trudie, She taught me many things, she played a very big part in my
childhood, so I remember sitting outside and listening to her read story books as she taught me
english at the age of 6 years old, because of my very very limited english vocabulary There was always
something to learn in casual conversations with her. She was always welcoming, caring and loving.
And I'm truly blessed to have had such a wonderful grandmother who always shared her knowledge,
love and wisdom with everyone. I will always cherish all the moments I had with her. You many have
passed on but your memories will live within me forever. Rest in peace Grandmother... I will never
forget you and will always love you for ever...
Lydia
Trudie and I spent quite a lot of time together when I was young. I'll never forget our daily walks,
where she taught me about the yesterday, today and tomorrow tree amongst many other things and
asked me about my day at school. She always used to make rock biscuits and give me fruits and we
would sit in her yard and I'd listen to her stories about her teachers that weren't so nice to her, I
enjoyed every moment. She always reminded me that I went to a good school with great teachers. I
will forever cherish the lessons she taught me and the wisdom she shared with me. I will truly miss
her.
