BIOGRAPHY OF THE LATE
FELICIA OWUSU ABREFAH
T
he late Felicia Owusu Abrefah was born on the 30th of May 1968 at Assin
Manso in the Central Region to the late Abusuapanin Stephen Kwadwo Abrefah
Atuahene and Obaapenyi Mary Yeboaa Abrefah(Mrs) all of blessed memory.
She had her elementary education At Nungua Methodist Basic School and moved to
3
Akwetia Roman Catholic School in the Eastern Region. She continued at St. Roses
Middle School after which she moved to Dambai Training College in the Northern part
of Ghana. The changes in schools was due to transfers of the late father who was a
Police Officer at the rank of ASP. She commenced her training college in 1987 after
which she completed in July, 1991. After completion, she was posted to Salvation Army
Basic School to start as a professional teacher after teaching for a short period of time
as a pupil teacher. She moved to Kanda Cluster of Schools to continue as a professional
teacher. After teaching for some time, she went for further studies at the University of
Education Winneba. From Kanda Cluster of Schools, she moved to Sakumono TWMA
Primary to teach in the Tema West Municipal Education Directorate. From Sakumono
TWMA, she was transferred to Sakumono Complex 2 Primary were she taught till her
Maker called her. She taught in the school for almost 13 years and was the Deputy Head
Teacher for more than ten years under different heads. She was a seasoned teacher in
teaching the English language. The peace of the school revolved around her and she
was a born peacemaker who knew how to handle all issues that came to her attention.
All can attest to the fact that the late Felicia was a peacemaker and a unifier who always
saw to the unity of the staff. On Monday, 24th July 2023, she came to school full of
life but complained of having a severe headache. However, she stayed and taught her
pupils till the school came to a close. All her colleagues encouraged her to go home and
get medication but she went on to stay.
Tuesday, 25th July, she rested at home after taking medication and was full of energy
and life, only for her condition to get worse by Tuesday evening around 7:45 PM. She
was rushed to Danpong Hospital and the doctors did their best to help her get better.
Wednesday, 26th July by 2:00 PM, her condition became very critical and by 3:00 PM
that faithful day, she gave up the ghost and responded to her Maker’s call.

TRIBUTE BY ODRUHENE OWUSU ADJEI-AMPOFO
ATUDROBESA III - NIFAHENE
It is with a heavy heart that we stand before you today to pay tribute to an exceptional
woman. She was an extraordinary daughter, a woman who lived her life with an
unwavering commitment to service, excellence, and selflessness and led by example.
Felicia Owusu Abrefah a.k.a Mama Feli was a beacon of hope, a shining example of the
human spirit at its best. People always valued her opinion and advice because of her
affable non-judgmental nature.
She was a Christian whose early practice was not the best. But, since God is an expert
in turning seemingly contradictory situations into amazing success stories, she later
became a devoted active good Christian.
What we found special about her was her great listening ability, taking time to understand
all sides before taking action. You were a woman of integrity, always striving to do what
was right even when it was difficult.
Above all, you were a friend to all, a confident to many, and a mentor to those who
needed guidance.
Your death is seen as a journey but not as a destination. Again, your departure is not
an appealing conclusion, but a glorious beginning. For us Christians, we believe that
when one door closes another door opens. May the good Lord direct your steps to
the bosom of Father Abraham. We finally say, fare thee well and be at peace with your
maker. Amen.

TRIBUTE BY SIBLINGS
“The righteous perish and no one takes to heart, the devout are taken away and
no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil.
Those who walk upright enter into peace, they find rest from death.”
(Isaiah 57:1-2 NIV)
I
f tears were the only requirement needed to bring you back to life, you would have had
millions of people who genuinely love and cherish you to gather tears for you to stay
alive. We are all in a state of shock and broken. Felicia, as we all call her, was a peace
maker and a strong tower in the family. We knew her as a strong and devoted Christian
who did not play with her worship and prayers. I especially have spent most of my life
staying with her. We plan and do everything together for over 15years.
Since we were all in the same profession as teachers, we shared ideas on lesson notes
and discussed all education matters together. Been ICGC members too, we discussed
our faith-based issues together. The rest of our siblings are not in Accra but we constantly
communicated as and when necessary and we loved each other very much. I for one
can say with confidence, that my sister was a great pillar in my life. She taught all who
came close to her to put their trust in GOD and not mortals.
Felicia was the type that even if you
want food and it’s in her mouth, she
will remove it for you. She made
sure all of us were very comfortable
in life and will go extra mile to make
sure that everybody is comfortable.
She was our prophetess and a great
counsellor, a woman of GOD who
despite the great gift she possesses,
she operated with this great gift in
total humility and submission. She
always told us that if God has not
spoken or she has not heard or seen
it revealed to her, she will not say.
All her prophecies and predictions
based on revelation were always on
point and never failed. Oh death!
Why deprive us of such a great gift.
Hmmmmmm….. Why this time? A lot
of people have come to your house,
sister… what should I tell them? They
are all in a state of shock and some
still don’t believe you are gone.
7
Sister as I affectionately call her was my all in all. She was our mother and father at
the same time. She stood and played this dual role without complain of any sought.
Everyone who came close to her, she took them as brothers and sisters and treated all
equally. Even those she knew had planned evil against her, she still received them with
love and affection. Her door was always opened to all that came close to her. She was
not quick to judge neither was she quick to accuse anyone. Even where there is a need
for you to rebuke, she did it with so much love to the extent that the person goes with
hope and affection with a strong conviction that GOD IS LOVE AND FORGIVES ONCE
YOU CONFESS AND REPENT. Death has not been fair to us at all.
The songs she sang that whole week till her demise shows that you knew your work
on earth was done and was going home but for the first time, she kept it from all of us.
Aww sister, who will I talk and discuss my issues with, the whole house is quiet and your
voice is missed. At dawn, you prayed for us all and stood in the gap when we were all
asleep and fought all the unseen battles for us. I cannot continue to cry as if you are lost
knowing you and the GOD you faithfully served. I know you are happy were ever you are
now but human as I am, I miss you and will forever miss you. The children are always
asking of you. Today, they have seen that you are gone. May the GOD you faithfully
served abide with you till we meet again.

TRIBUTE BY CHILDREN
A remarkable woman whose warmth and
strength touched the lives of everyone she
met was our mother. She taught us the true
meaning of love, kindness and resilience.
We cherished the countless memories we
shared, from a comforting heart to her
words of wisdom that guided us through
life’s challenges. Her legacy lives on in the
love and values she instilled in us.
Our mom was an angel on Earth, always
putting others before herself. She had
a heart full of love and compassion,
always ready to lend a helping hand. Her
selflessness and kindness touched the
lives of so many.
Even when she faced challenges, she
never hesitated to support those in needs.
Her love and care knew no bounds, and
her impact will be felt forever. We would
love to be with her and see her ambrosial
face forever but no one can say “No”
when God says it should happen. Her
absence has brought a wild plague in our
lives but the bible says there is a time to
cry and there is time to laugh, there is time
to be sad and a time to dance with joy.
Even though you are no longer here with
us, we can still feel your love guiding
us through this difficult times. You
will always be in our hearts forever. Our
mother always wore a smile like that of the
suns and had a heart made of pure gold,
and eyes, so bright like the stars in heaven.
Despite our stubbornness sometimes, she
never gave up on us. Her correction was
always full of love.
We would entreat everyone here to calm
down. We believe we will meet one day
in Heaven. We will forever be grateful for
the gift of her presence in our lives and the
love we had for her will forever be in our
hearts.
HAVE A PEACEFUL REST SWEET MOM
WE LOVE YOU VERY MUCH.

TRIBUTE BY THE STAFF OF SAKUMONO COMPLEX
(COMPLEX 1 PRIMARY & JHS, COMPLEX 2 PRIMARY & JHS)
Now the laborer’s task is over.
Now the battle day is past.
Now upon the farther shoe
Lands the voyage at last
Father, in thy gracious keeping.
Earth to earth and dust to dust
Calmly now the words we say
Left behind we wait in trust
For the resurrection day
Father in thy gracious keeping
Leave we now thy servant sleeping
W
e are saddened with your
demise and words alone cannot
describe our grieved hearts.
Aunty Felicia as she was fondly called,
was a hardworking and a dedicated
teacher. She was a mother to all and
never discriminated. She was such an
exuberant person and constantly shared
her knowledge and her experiences with
us. She was very friendly and pleasant.
She was an outstanding member of staff
who understood teamwork and was ever
willing to go the extra mile to ensure the
success of any task assigned to her.
Although you were in Complex 2 primary,
your spirituality and humility affected the
whole compound. The respect you had
from your colleagues on the compound
was extraordinary. All the heads loved you
and sought your opinion on diverse issues.
You hardly criticized anybody and when
there was a need you did it with so much
professionalism. You are one in a million
and you will forever be missed.
The late Felicia Owusu Abrefa was an
individual whose life was well live! She
had a gentle demeanour and a big heart.
She got along well with everybody she
met. Aunty Felicia, we believe that you are
free from all the pain and sorrow of this
world and resting under the shadow of the
almighty. Your legacy will live on through
the many lives you’ve touched. Aunty
Felicia, fare thee well and rest peacefully
in the bosom of your maker. Amen.

O
ur lovely Madam Felicia Owusu Abrefah was a very kind person towards
everyone. She loved and cared for us equally. She always corrected us whenever
we were wrong. She was jovial, pleasant and respectful. She always wanted
everyone to engage themselves in school activities. She always wished us the best in
everything we do. She was a very good teacher and we all loved her because of the
advices she gives to us.
She was one of the teachers who always conducted assembly with us and her favorite
song she used to sing was “Me ma wu so” and “It is raining all around me.” She always
wanted us to be happy and used to say “Onipa ba tenasi.” We are always happy when
she says such words but now there is no one to make us happy like she used to. She
taught us how to be respectful and the importance of giving.
The love we had for her was very great. She taught us a lot of poems, some of which
include “Laziness Laziness Laziness.” We always recited this poem whenever we make

too much noise in class. One other poem
too was “Old Rodger is dead and gone to
his grave.”
Any time she teaches us and we don’t
understand,shetakeshertimeandteaches
the lesson again for us all to understand.
She really appreciates the very little things
we do for her. The last song she taught us
was “Jack papa.”
Where are you Madam Felicia? You always
respond when we call you but today you
are quiet. Please respond to our call. Who
will teach us the songs, poems and instill
in us the principles of truthfulness and the
fear of GOD? We love you but your creator
loves you the most. Rest in perfect peace
our lovely madam.
You will forever be in our hearts till we
meet again. We will tell all those coming
after us that there was once a loving,
kindhearted woman who treated all of us
like her own biological children. God be
with you madam.

TRIBUTE BY TEMA WEST MUNICIPAL EDUCATION
OFFICE
“If thou shall not see my face again, pray for my soul. More things are wrought by prayer than
this world dreams of.” Alfred Lord Tennyson.
Y
es, exactly so, more things work out better with prayers than we can think of. Our hearts
are indeed heavily broken again and in giving expression to what has happened to us,
words are playing truant with us. For just a few weeks ago we lost one of our dearly
beloved hardworking female teachers. We still have not gotten over the pain yet and here we are
with another.
Madam Felicia Owusu Abrefah with teacher’s registered number 7325/91 joined The Salvation
Army Primary School-Tema in September 1991 after graduating from Dambai Teacher Training
College with a Certificate A ‘4’ year as her first posting. She was transferred to the Kanda Estate
Primary 4 School Accra on her request, still as a class teacher in 1998 to 2003.
Madam Felicia again joined the Tema Education Unit and taught at Mexico Primary School
between the years 2003 and 2005. In 2005 and 2011, our sister Felicia found herself on Sakumono
TMA ‘1’ Primary School staff upon completion of First degree in Basic Design Education at the
University of Education, Winneba. From September 2011 to date, our sister and friend Felicia
was again transferred to the Sakumono School Complex ‘2’ Primary where she met her untimely
death after a short illness.
Felicia was one hardworking teacher every headteacher would love to work with. She was selfless,
versatile and ready to accept additional responsibility without complaints. The Directorate has
lost another gallant daughter, but since we cannot question God, we will only pray and thank
Him for bringing us such a special loving soul and taking her back to Himself to join His Angels
in worshiping Him.
Felicia dear, Rest in Perfect Peace, may you enjoy your new world with the Angels as you worship
your maker. We will still miss though.
“Since all that I meet will work for my good,
The bitter is sweet, Thy medicine food,
Though painful at present, will cease before long,
And then, O! how glorious, The conqueror’s song!
And then, O! how glorious, The conqueror’s song!”

TRIBUTE TO MY DEAREST SISTER, A TRUE FRIEND
AND A COLLEAGUE, FROM MR. ROBERT NARTEY.
I
cannot express in words how much you meant to me. You were my best friend and
confidant, my support system, my role model and my inspiration. You have been there
for me through thick and thin, always ready to give me a shoulder to cry on, a listening
ear and a comforting embrace.
I admire your resilience, your strength, your generosity, and your kindness. You have
always put the needs of others before yours, and never hesitated to go out of your way
to make someone’s day a little brighter, your selflessness is truly unparalleled.
You have taught me so much about life, about love, about family, about friendship and
about staying true to one’s self. You have shown me that no matter how tough life gets,
there is always a way to overcome the challenges and come out strong.
I am indeed privileged to have met
you in my life’s journey. People have
asked so many questions about our
friendship. For example, “Is she
your wife?”, “Are you dating her?”,
and a thousand more, most of which
you heard and we laughed over it.
You always told me, let them say!
Today I want them to know who you
were to me: a true friend, a mentor,
a mother and a great counselor. You
were my eyes and ears. My guardian
angel on earth. I would have made
a lot of terrible mistakes in life but
through your good counseling and
advice, I always escaped the traps
of my enemies.
My prayer life changed when I met
you. My stubborn Kofi spirit became
gentle. I use to be called Kofi Dzata
meaning (Kofi The Lion) because I
believed in action now and would
want to retaliate on every single
thing but you taught me to allow
God do the fight and taught me to
14
be quiet and that silence is golden. I understood what authority meant when I met
you and the respect I had for people in authority increased from a minimal percentage
to a higher level. “Kofi, GOD is working on your heart and when HE is done, you will
understand things better”, you always told me this. We shared all secrets together and
you understood me better and shared all your passwords on everything with me. The
trust was great and awesome, when others did not believe in me, you did, when they
told you to be careful about me, you trusted me the most.
I will hold on to the great virtues I’ve learned from you as a great legacy and will teach
others same. Fare thee well my guardian angel on earth. Now your work on earth is
complete and the assignment given to you over my life has ended. You have handed
over the baton to me and I will run with it.
Difficult as it is for me, I know you are happy wherever you are.
I cannot promise to stop crying now because I am human and you cannot be replaced.
I will sing praises to my maker for granting you rest from this world’s challenges. May
your gentle soul rest peacefully with your maker till we meet again.
Maa Feli rest well !!!!!
My Guardian Angle on earth, my great counselor, rest in your maker’s bosom till we
meet again.

TRIBUTE BY CHURCH - ICGC CALVARY TEMPLE
“For none of us lives for ourselves alone,
and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If
we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die,
we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or
die, we belong to the Lord. For this very
reason, Christ died and returned to life so
that he might be the Lord of both the dead
and the living. Amen.” (Romans 14:7-9)
F
elicia Owusu Abrefah, affectionately
called Mama Felicia joined the church
in 2007 and was a devoted member of
this church and a woman with a very reserved
personality. She always had a subtle smile on
her face, which made all who encountered
her feel welcomed. We are encouraged as a
church that she took steps to give her life to
Christ and faithfully served the Lord in various
capacities and departments in the church. She
was a member of the intercessory department
for a long time. She was an active intercessor
until her ailment got intense in December 2022.
Prior to the news about her demise, she took
part in the Saturday prayer retreats at ICGC
Christ Temple, the prayer retreats organized
by ICGC before the annual Greater Works
Conference. Those prayer sessions and the
forty days of power evening prayer meetings
were her last church appearances before she
passed away.
Mama Felicia was also a member of the
HipHip Covenant Family, where she shared in
Bible studies, contributing to discussions and
further expounding her understanding of every
message preached at service. Mama Felicia
was present at occasions involving Covenant
Family members and the church at large. We
will miss your absence and the fun moments
we had together as a family. This departure was
too sudden, and we didn’t expect you would
leave us soon. We were all praying and going
through the forty days of Power and believing
God for miracles to happen in our lives but it
pleased God to call you home at such a time.
We cannot question the ways of God and It
is our hope and prayer that the good Lord
will receive you and give you eternal rest.
As a church, the memory of your smiles and
commitment to service in the House of God
will always be with us and inspire us. Your
departure only reminds us that this world is not
our home. We have a home in heaven, where
we will reunite with our Heavenly Father and
all the saints. Therefore, we are comforted
by the word of God in 1 Thessalonians 4:
13-14, which reads: “13 Brothers, we do not
want you to be ignorant about those who fall
asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who
have no hope. 14 We believe that Jesus died
and rose again and so we believe that God
will bring with Jesus those who have fallen
asleep in him.”
Mama Felicia, Fare thee well. Mama Felicia,
Rest peacefully in the bosom of our Lord till
we meet again.

TRIBUTE BY APOSTLE HELENA ADOMA
“Blessed are those who die in Christ from henceforth, the spirit says they shall
rest from their labour and their works shall follow them” (Revelation 14:13)
A
unt Felicia, as I used to call her, you were more than a sister to me! I shared my
thoughts with you, I prayed with you. Aunt you were my everything, why have
you left me alone so soon? Who will I share my thoughts and pray with? I do call
you anytime and whenever I don’t understand anything, you will then use your calm
voice and say “Apostle calm down
and have patience.”
You called me on Tuesday 25th
June, 2023 at exactly 1:00 PM and
prayed with me, we spoke and you
told me many things, after which you
told me “Put your hand on your heart
and bless me!”, So does it mean
you were taking the blessing to your
grave? Why did you ask me to bless
you knowing very well that you were
leaving me! Aunt Felicia, I will forever
miss you! My eyes are full of tears
and my heart is filled with pain, you
have really left a vacuum in my heart
and I don’t know what to say!
Anytime I come to your school
(Sakumono Complex) to preach, you
will introduce me as Apostle, lead
songs as we all sing, dance and hug
each other. Who will introduce me,
lead songs before and after I have
preach now? If tears could bring you back to life, I would have let you come back. But
one thing I know for sure is you are resting in the bosom of your maker. You have fought
the good fight you have run the race, you will be crowned in victory in Jesus name
Rest well my sister,
May the good Lord keep you till we meet again.
Aunt Felicia, Demrifa Due.

M
aa Felicia as we all called her was our family mother who held us like one of
her own, instilled the word of God in us and always encouraged us to take
God seriously. Maa Felicia, your death has caused us so much pain, left us
devastated, we also have sleepless nights when we remember that you’re no more
with us. We reminisce all the good memories and it leaves us in so much pain. As mere
mortals, who are we to question God. We are comforted by your word in Isaiah that
says that, for the righteous man is taken away from Calamity. We believe you are in a
safer place now. We will miss you Maa, we will truly miss you. Thank you so much for
all you did for us. Continue to watch over us as you lie in the bosom of the Almighty. We
love you, till we meet again, rest well.

TRIBUTE BY DATCO 1991 GROUP
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
(Psalm 34:18)
M
adam Felicia was one of our intelligent and industrious colleagues in school:
Dambai Training College in Oti Region. She was our Girls Prefect in the year
1991. She executed this role to perfection which made all of us to continuously
call her GP. She was very instrumental in bringing this DATCO 1991 year group together
hence was among the leadership of the group. This group will never be functional without
her astute ideas and vision. We were all dumbfounded when we heard our Felicia is no
more. On 30th May, 2023, she celebrated her birthday with a post captioned “Glory be
to God for adding another year to my age. Hip, hip hip, hurray! Thank u Jesus”, so we
were all shocked to hear news of her passing on 26th July, 2023.
Felicia was soft spoken but did not hesitate to point out the wrongs, even of her
colleagues. She was a unifier. Your life was a blessing, your memory will remain in our
hearts. We are deeply saddened by your loss. We are most grateful for the time we had
together back at school and thereafter.
Our beloved colleague and indefatigable friend, you may have left us far too soon, but
your loving presence will endure forever in our hearts and souls. You have accomplished
many good things in life. You worked hard and always followed the path of honesty. The
path you have laid down is one thing worth emulating. Especially your faith, beliefs and
Christian principles. We salute you Ma Feli. In the garden of memories, you will forever
bloom, our dearest class mate.
With teardrops running down our faces, we painfully bid you farewell. So sad you have
to leave us early. We have started missing you dearly. It is written, “it is appointed for
man to die once and after this, judgment.” But this we pray that mercy reigns over
judgment. Wishing you a blissful rest in eternity our dearest colleague and friend. Fare
thee well Mama Feli. Till we meet again we say rest well.

HYMNS
MHB 498 - Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me
1
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save me from its guilt and power.
2
Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All could never sin erase,
Thou must save, and save by grace.
3
Nothing in my hands I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.
4
While I draw this fleeting breath,
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.
MHB 679 - Pleasant are Thy courts
above
1
PLEASANT are Thy courts above,
In the land of light and love;
Pleasant are Thy courts below,
In this land of sin and woe.
Oh, my spirit longs and faints
For the converse of Thy saints,
For the brightness of Thy face,
For Thy fulness, God of grace!
2
Happy birds that sing and fly
Round Thy altars, O Most High!
Happier souls that find a rest
In a heavenly Father’s breast!
Like the wandering dove that found
No repose on earth around,
They can to their ark repair,
And enjoy it ever there.
3
Happy souls! their praises flow
Even in this vale of woe;
Waters in the desert rise,
Manna feeds them from the skies.
On they go from strength to strength,
Till they reach Thy throne at length;
At Thy feet adoring fall,
Who hast led them safe through all.
26
4
Lord, be mine this prize to win:
Guide me through a world of sin;
Keep me by Thy saving grace;
Give me at Thy side a place.
Sun and shield alike Thou art;
Guide and guard my erring heart:
Grace and glory flow from Thee;
Shower, oh shower them, Lord, on me!
MHB 679 - Fight The Good Fight With all
Thy Might
1
Fight the good fight with all thy might!
Christ is thy strength, and Christ thy right;
Lay hold on life, and it shall be
Thy joy and crown eternally.
2
Run the straight race through God’s good
grace,
Lift up thine eyes, and seek His face;
Life with its way before us lies,
Christ is the path, and Christ the prize.
3
Cast care aside, lean on thy Guide;
His boundless mercy will provide;
Trust, and thy trusting soul shall prove
Christ is its life, and Christ its love.
4
Faint not nor fear, His arms are near,
He changeth not, and thou art dear;
Only believe, and thou shalt see
That Christ is all in all to thee.

  • 4. 2 BIOGRAPHY OF THE LATE FELICIA OWUSU ABREFAH T he late Felicia Owusu Abrefah was born on the 30th of May 1968 at Assin Manso in the Central Region to the late Abusuapanin Stephen Kwadwo Abrefah Atuahene and Obaapenyi Mary Yeboaa Abrefah(Mrs) all of blessed memory. She had her elementary education At Nungua Methodist Basic School and moved to
  • 5. 3 Akwetia Roman Catholic School in the Eastern Region. She continued at St. Roses Middle School after which she moved to Dambai Training College in the Northern part of Ghana. The changes in schools was due to transfers of the late father who was a Police Officer at the rank of ASP. She commenced her training college in 1987 after which she completed in July, 1991. After completion, she was posted to Salvation Army Basic School to start as a professional teacher after teaching for a short period of time as a pupil teacher. She moved to Kanda Cluster of Schools to continue as a professional teacher. After teaching for some time, she went for further studies at the University of Education Winneba. From Kanda Cluster of Schools, she moved to Sakumono TWMA Primary to teach in the Tema West Municipal Education Directorate. From Sakumono TWMA, she was transferred to Sakumono Complex 2 Primary were she taught till her Maker called her. She taught in the school for almost 13 years and was the Deputy Head Teacher for more than ten years under different heads. She was a seasoned teacher in teaching the English language. The peace of the school revolved around her and she was a born peacemaker who knew how to handle all issues that came to her attention. All can attest to the fact that the late Felicia was a peacemaker and a unifier who always saw to the unity of the staff. On Monday, 24th July 2023, she came to school full of life but complained of having a severe headache. However, she stayed and taught her pupils till the school came to a close. All her colleagues encouraged her to go home and get medication but she went on to stay. Tuesday, 25th July, she rested at home after taking medication and was full of energy and life, only for her condition to get worse by Tuesday evening around 7:45 PM. She was rushed to Danpong Hospital and the doctors did their best to help her get better. Wednesday, 26th July by 2:00 PM, her condition became very critical and by 3:00 PM that faithful day, she gave up the ghost and responded to her Maker’s call.
  • 7. 5 TRIBUTE BY ODRUHENE OWUSU ADJEI-AMPOFO ATUDROBESA III - NIFAHENE It is with a heavy heart that we stand before you today to pay tribute to an exceptional woman. She was an extraordinary daughter, a woman who lived her life with an unwavering commitment to service, excellence, and selflessness and led by example. Felicia Owusu Abrefah a.k.a Mama Feli was a beacon of hope, a shining example of the human spirit at its best. People always valued her opinion and advice because of her affable non-judgmental nature. She was a Christian whose early practice was not the best. But, since God is an expert in turning seemingly contradictory situations into amazing success stories, she later became a devoted active good Christian. What we found special about her was her great listening ability, taking time to understand all sides before taking action. You were a woman of integrity, always striving to do what was right even when it was difficult. Above all, you were a friend to all, a confident to many, and a mentor to those who needed guidance. Your death is seen as a journey but not as a destination. Again, your departure is not an appealing conclusion, but a glorious beginning. For us Christians, we believe that when one door closes another door opens. May the good Lord direct your steps to the bosom of Father Abraham. We finally say, fare thee well and be at peace with your maker. Amen.
  • 8. 6 TRIBUTE BY SIBLINGS “The righteous perish and no one takes to heart, the devout are taken away and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk upright enter into peace, they find rest from death.” (Isaiah 57:1-2 NIV) I f tears were the only requirement needed to bring you back to life, you would have had millions of people who genuinely love and cherish you to gather tears for you to stay alive. We are all in a state of shock and broken. Felicia, as we all call her, was a peace maker and a strong tower in the family. We knew her as a strong and devoted Christian who did not play with her worship and prayers. I especially have spent most of my life staying with her. We plan and do everything together for over 15years. Since we were all in the same profession as teachers, we shared ideas on lesson notes and discussed all education matters together. Been ICGC members too, we discussed our faith-based issues together. The rest of our siblings are not in Accra but we constantly communicated as and when necessary and we loved each other very much. I for one can say with confidence, that my sister was a great pillar in my life. She taught all who came close to her to put their trust in GOD and not mortals. Felicia was the type that even if you want food and it’s in her mouth, she will remove it for you. She made sure all of us were very comfortable in life and will go extra mile to make sure that everybody is comfortable. She was our prophetess and a great counsellor, a woman of GOD who despite the great gift she possesses, she operated with this great gift in total humility and submission. She always told us that if God has not spoken or she has not heard or seen it revealed to her, she will not say. All her prophecies and predictions based on revelation were always on point and never failed. Oh death! Why deprive us of such a great gift. Hmmmmmm….. Why this time? A lot of people have come to your house, sister… what should I tell them? They are all in a state of shock and some still don’t believe you are gone.
  • 9. 7 Sister as I affectionately call her was my all in all. She was our mother and father at the same time. She stood and played this dual role without complain of any sought. Everyone who came close to her, she took them as brothers and sisters and treated all equally. Even those she knew had planned evil against her, she still received them with love and affection. Her door was always opened to all that came close to her. She was not quick to judge neither was she quick to accuse anyone. Even where there is a need for you to rebuke, she did it with so much love to the extent that the person goes with hope and affection with a strong conviction that GOD IS LOVE AND FORGIVES ONCE YOU CONFESS AND REPENT. Death has not been fair to us at all. The songs she sang that whole week till her demise shows that you knew your work on earth was done and was going home but for the first time, she kept it from all of us. Aww sister, who will I talk and discuss my issues with, the whole house is quiet and your voice is missed. At dawn, you prayed for us all and stood in the gap when we were all asleep and fought all the unseen battles for us. I cannot continue to cry as if you are lost knowing you and the GOD you faithfully served. I know you are happy were ever you are now but human as I am, I miss you and will forever miss you. The children are always asking of you. Today, they have seen that you are gone. May the GOD you faithfully served abide with you till we meet again. Sister nante yie.!!!!! Demrifa due.!!!!!!!
  • 10. 8 TRIBUTE BY CHILDREN A remarkable woman whose warmth and strength touched the lives of everyone she met was our mother. She taught us the true meaning of love, kindness and resilience. We cherished the countless memories we shared, from a comforting heart to her words of wisdom that guided us through life’s challenges. Her legacy lives on in the love and values she instilled in us. Our mom was an angel on Earth, always putting others before herself. She had a heart full of love and compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand. Her selflessness and kindness touched the lives of so many. Even when she faced challenges, she never hesitated to support those in needs. Her love and care knew no bounds, and her impact will be felt forever. We would love to be with her and see her ambrosial face forever but no one can say “No” when God says it should happen. Her absence has brought a wild plague in our lives but the bible says there is a time to cry and there is time to laugh, there is time to be sad and a time to dance with joy. Even though you are no longer here with us, we can still feel your love guiding us through this difficult times. You will always be in our hearts forever. Our mother always wore a smile like that of the suns and had a heart made of pure gold, and eyes, so bright like the stars in heaven. Despite our stubbornness sometimes, she never gave up on us. Her correction was always full of love. We would entreat everyone here to calm down. We believe we will meet one day in Heaven. We will forever be grateful for the gift of her presence in our lives and the love we had for her will forever be in our hearts. HAVE A PEACEFUL REST SWEET MOM WE LOVE YOU VERY MUCH.
  • 11. 9 TRIBUTE BY THE STAFF OF SAKUMONO COMPLEX (COMPLEX 1 PRIMARY & JHS, COMPLEX 2 PRIMARY & JHS) Now the laborer’s task is over. Now the battle day is past. Now upon the farther shoe Lands the voyage at last Father, in thy gracious keeping. Earth to earth and dust to dust Calmly now the words we say Left behind we wait in trust For the resurrection day Father in thy gracious keeping Leave we now thy servant sleeping W e are saddened with your demise and words alone cannot describe our grieved hearts. Aunty Felicia as she was fondly called, was a hardworking and a dedicated teacher. She was a mother to all and never discriminated. She was such an exuberant person and constantly shared her knowledge and her experiences with us. She was very friendly and pleasant. She was an outstanding member of staff who understood teamwork and was ever willing to go the extra mile to ensure the success of any task assigned to her. Although you were in Complex 2 primary, your spirituality and humility affected the whole compound. The respect you had from your colleagues on the compound was extraordinary. All the heads loved you and sought your opinion on diverse issues. You hardly criticized anybody and when there was a need you did it with so much professionalism. You are one in a million and you will forever be missed. The late Felicia Owusu Abrefa was an individual whose life was well live! She had a gentle demeanour and a big heart. She got along well with everybody she met. Aunty Felicia, we believe that you are free from all the pain and sorrow of this world and resting under the shadow of the almighty. Your legacy will live on through the many lives you’ve touched. Aunty Felicia, fare thee well and rest peacefully in the bosom of your maker. Amen.
  • 12. 10 O ur lovely Madam Felicia Owusu Abrefah was a very kind person towards everyone. She loved and cared for us equally. She always corrected us whenever we were wrong. She was jovial, pleasant and respectful. She always wanted everyone to engage themselves in school activities. She always wished us the best in everything we do. She was a very good teacher and we all loved her because of the advices she gives to us. She was one of the teachers who always conducted assembly with us and her favorite song she used to sing was “Me ma wu so” and “It is raining all around me.” She always wanted us to be happy and used to say “Onipa ba tenasi.” We are always happy when she says such words but now there is no one to make us happy like she used to. She taught us how to be respectful and the importance of giving. The love we had for her was very great. She taught us a lot of poems, some of which include “Laziness Laziness Laziness.” We always recited this poem whenever we make TRIBUTE BY THE PUPILS OF SAKUMONO COMPLEX 2 PRIMARY SCHOOL BASIC 6
  • 13. 11 too much noise in class. One other poem too was “Old Rodger is dead and gone to his grave.” Any time she teaches us and we don’t understand, shetakeshertimeandteaches the lesson again for us all to understand. She really appreciates the very little things we do for her. The last song she taught us was “Jack papa.” Where are you Madam Felicia? You always respond when we call you but today you are quiet. Please respond to our call. Who will teach us the songs, poems and instill in us the principles of truthfulness and the fear of GOD? We love you but your creator loves you the most. Rest in perfect peace our lovely madam. You will forever be in our hearts till we meet again. We will tell all those coming after us that there was once a loving, kindhearted woman who treated all of us like her own biological children. God be with you madam.
  • 14. 12 TRIBUTE BY TEMA WEST MUNICIPAL EDUCATION OFFICE “If thou shall not see my face again, pray for my soul. More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.” Alfred Lord Tennyson. Y es, exactly so, more things work out better with prayers than we can think of. Our hearts are indeed heavily broken again and in giving expression to what has happened to us, words are playing truant with us. For just a few weeks ago we lost one of our dearly beloved hardworking female teachers. We still have not gotten over the pain yet and here we are with another. Madam Felicia Owusu Abrefah with teacher’s registered number 7325/91 joined The Salvation Army Primary School-Tema in September 1991 after graduating from Dambai Teacher Training College with a Certificate A ‘4’ year as her first posting. She was transferred to the Kanda Estate Primary 4 School Accra on her request, still as a class teacher in 1998 to 2003. Madam Felicia again joined the Tema Education Unit and taught at Mexico Primary School between the years 2003 and 2005. In 2005 and 2011, our sister Felicia found herself on Sakumono TMA ‘1’ Primary School staff upon completion of First degree in Basic Design Education at the University of Education, Winneba. From September 2011 to date, our sister and friend Felicia was again transferred to the Sakumono School Complex ‘2’ Primary where she met her untimely death after a short illness. Felicia was one hardworking teacher every headteacher would love to work with. She was selfless, versatile and ready to accept additional responsibility without complaints. The Directorate has lost another gallant daughter, but since we cannot question God, we will only pray and thank Him for bringing us such a special loving soul and taking her back to Himself to join His Angels in worshiping Him. Felicia dear, Rest in Perfect Peace, may you enjoy your new world with the Angels as you worship your maker. We will still miss though. “Since all that I meet will work for my good, The bitter is sweet, Thy medicine food, Though painful at present, will cease before long, And then, O! how glorious, The conqueror’s song! And then, O! how glorious, The conqueror’s song!” Da yie ƆdƆfo pa. Nyame nfa wo kra nsie. Kae hƐn mpaebƆ mu na yƐn so yƐ bƐ kae wo. Due, Due Damirifa Due!
  • 15. 13 TRIBUTE TO MY DEAREST SISTER, A TRUE FRIEND AND A COLLEAGUE, FROM MR. ROBERT NARTEY. I cannot express in words how much you meant to me. You were my best friend and confidant, my support system, my role model and my inspiration. You have been there for me through thick and thin, always ready to give me a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear and a comforting embrace. I admire your resilience, your strength, your generosity, and your kindness. You have always put the needs of others before yours, and never hesitated to go out of your way to make someone’s day a little brighter, your selflessness is truly unparalleled. You have taught me so much about life, about love, about family, about friendship and about staying true to one’s self. You have shown me that no matter how tough life gets, there is always a way to overcome the challenges and come out strong. I am indeed privileged to have met you in my life’s journey. People have asked so many questions about our friendship. For example, “Is she your wife?”, “Are you dating her?”, and a thousand more, most of which you heard and we laughed over it. You always told me, let them say! Today I want them to know who you were to me: a true friend, a mentor, a mother and a great counselor. You were my eyes and ears. My guardian angel on earth. I would have made a lot of terrible mistakes in life but through your good counseling and advice, I always escaped the traps of my enemies. My prayer life changed when I met you. My stubborn Kofi spirit became gentle. I use to be called Kofi Dzata meaning (Kofi The Lion) because I believed in action now and would want to retaliate on every single thing but you taught me to allow God do the fight and taught me to
  • 16. 14 be quiet and that silence is golden. I understood what authority meant when I met you and the respect I had for people in authority increased from a minimal percentage to a higher level. “Kofi, GOD is working on your heart and when HE is done, you will understand things better”, you always told me this. We shared all secrets together and you understood me better and shared all your passwords on everything with me. The trust was great and awesome, when others did not believe in me, you did, when they told you to be careful about me, you trusted me the most. I will hold on to the great virtues I’ve learned from you as a great legacy and will teach others same. Fare thee well my guardian angel on earth. Now your work on earth is complete and the assignment given to you over my life has ended. You have handed over the baton to me and I will run with it. Difficult as it is for me, I know you are happy wherever you are. I cannot promise to stop crying now because I am human and you cannot be replaced. I will sing praises to my maker for granting you rest from this world’s challenges. May your gentle soul rest peacefully with your maker till we meet again. Maa Feli rest well !!!!! My Guardian Angle on earth, my great counselor, rest in your maker’s bosom till we meet again. Maa Feli, yaawɔ jogbaŋŋ yε Nyɔŋmɔ mɔ ni oja jogbaŋŋ lε fijii ashishi. Kεyaa shi wɔɔkpe ekoŋŋ.

  • 23. 21 TRIBUTE BY CHURCH - ICGC CALVARY TEMPLE “For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. Amen.” (Romans 14:7-9) F elicia Owusu Abrefah, affectionately called Mama Felicia joined the church in 2007 and was a devoted member of this church and a woman with a very reserved personality. She always had a subtle smile on her face, which made all who encountered her feel welcomed. We are encouraged as a church that she took steps to give her life to Christ and faithfully served the Lord in various capacities and departments in the church. She was a member of the intercessory department for a long time. She was an active intercessor until her ailment got intense in December 2022. Prior to the news about her demise, she took part in the Saturday prayer retreats at ICGC Christ Temple, the prayer retreats organized by ICGC before the annual Greater Works Conference. Those prayer sessions and the forty days of power evening prayer meetings were her last church appearances before she passed away. Mama Felicia was also a member of the HipHip Covenant Family, where she shared in Bible studies, contributing to discussions and further expounding her understanding of every message preached at service. Mama Felicia was present at occasions involving Covenant Family members and the church at large. We will miss your absence and the fun moments we had together as a family. This departure was too sudden, and we didn’t expect you would leave us soon. We were all praying and going through the forty days of Power and believing God for miracles to happen in our lives but it pleased God to call you home at such a time. We cannot question the ways of God and It is our hope and prayer that the good Lord will receive you and give you eternal rest. As a church, the memory of your smiles and commitment to service in the House of God will always be with us and inspire us. Your departure only reminds us that this world is not our home. We have a home in heaven, where we will reunite with our Heavenly Father and all the saints. Therefore, we are comforted by the word of God in 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-14, which reads: “13 Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. 14 We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.” Mama Felicia, Fare thee well. Mama Felicia, Rest peacefully in the bosom of our Lord till we meet again.
  • 24. 22 TRIBUTE BY APOSTLE HELENA ADOMA “Blessed are those who die in Christ from henceforth, the spirit says they shall rest from their labour and their works shall follow them” (Revelation 14:13) A unt Felicia, as I used to call her, you were more than a sister to me! I shared my thoughts with you, I prayed with you. Aunt you were my everything, why have you left me alone so soon? Who will I share my thoughts and pray with? I do call you anytime and whenever I don’t understand anything, you will then use your calm voice and say “Apostle calm down and have patience.” You called me on Tuesday 25th June, 2023 at exactly 1:00 PM and prayed with me, we spoke and you told me many things, after which you told me “Put your hand on your heart and bless me!”, So does it mean you were taking the blessing to your grave? Why did you ask me to bless you knowing very well that you were leaving me! Aunt Felicia, I will forever miss you! My eyes are full of tears and my heart is filled with pain, you have really left a vacuum in my heart and I don’t know what to say! Anytime I come to your school (Sakumono Complex) to preach, you will introduce me as Apostle, lead songs as we all sing, dance and hug each other. Who will introduce me, lead songs before and after I have preach now? If tears could bring you back to life, I would have let you come back. But one thing I know for sure is you are resting in the bosom of your maker. You have fought the good fight you have run the race, you will be crowned in victory in Jesus name Rest well my sister, May the good Lord keep you till we meet again. Aunt Felicia, Demrifa Due.
  • 25. 23 “The righteous man perishes, and no one lays it to heart; devout men are taken away,whilenooneunderstands.Fortherighteousmanistakenawayfromcalamity. he enters into peace; they rest in their beds who walk in their uprightness.” (Isaiah 57:1-2) M aa Felicia as we all called her was our family mother who held us like one of her own, instilled the word of God in us and always encouraged us to take God seriously. Maa Felicia, your death has caused us so much pain, left us devastated, we also have sleepless nights when we remember that you’re no more with us. We reminisce all the good memories and it leaves us in so much pain. As mere mortals, who are we to question God. We are comforted by your word in Isaiah that says that, for the righteous man is taken away from Calamity. We believe you are in a safer place now. We will miss you Maa, we will truly miss you. Thank you so much for all you did for us. Continue to watch over us as you lie in the bosom of the Almighty. We love you, till we meet again, rest well. TRIBUTE BY OBUOBI FAMILY
  • 26. 24 TRIBUTE BY DATCO 1991 GROUP “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18) M adam Felicia was one of our intelligent and industrious colleagues in school: Dambai Training College in Oti Region. She was our Girls Prefect in the year 1991. She executed this role to perfection which made all of us to continuously call her GP. She was very instrumental in bringing this DATCO 1991 year group together hence was among the leadership of the group. This group will never be functional without her astute ideas and vision. We were all dumbfounded when we heard our Felicia is no more. On 30th May, 2023, she celebrated her birthday with a post captioned “Glory be to God for adding another year to my age. Hip, hip hip, hurray! Thank u Jesus”, so we were all shocked to hear news of her passing on 26th July, 2023. Felicia was soft spoken but did not hesitate to point out the wrongs, even of her colleagues. She was a unifier. Your life was a blessing, your memory will remain in our hearts. We are deeply saddened by your loss. We are most grateful for the time we had together back at school and thereafter. Our beloved colleague and indefatigable friend, you may have left us far too soon, but your loving presence will endure forever in our hearts and souls. You have accomplished many good things in life. You worked hard and always followed the path of honesty. The path you have laid down is one thing worth emulating. Especially your faith, beliefs and Christian principles. We salute you Ma Feli. In the garden of memories, you will forever bloom, our dearest class mate. With teardrops running down our faces, we painfully bid you farewell. So sad you have to leave us early. We have started missing you dearly. It is written, “it is appointed for man to die once and after this, judgment.” But this we pray that mercy reigns over judgment. Wishing you a blissful rest in eternity our dearest colleague and friend. Fare thee well Mama Feli. Till we meet again we say rest well.
  • 27. 25 HYMNS MHB 498 - Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me 1 Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee; Let the water and the blood, From Thy riven side which flowed, Be of sin the double cure, Save me from its guilt and power. 2 Not the labor of my hands Can fulfill Thy law’s demands; Could my zeal no respite know, Could my tears forever flow, All could never sin erase, Thou must save, and save by grace. 3 Nothing in my hands I bring, Simply to Thy cross I cling; Naked, come to Thee for dress, Helpless, look to Thee for grace: Foul, I to the fountain fly, Wash me, Savior, or I die. 4 While I draw this fleeting breath, When mine eyes shall close in death, When I soar to worlds unknown, See Thee on Thy judgment throne, Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee. MHB 679 - Pleasant are Thy courts above 1 PLEASANT are Thy courts above, In the land of light and love; Pleasant are Thy courts below, In this land of sin and woe. Oh, my spirit longs and faints For the converse of Thy saints, For the brightness of Thy face, For Thy fulness, God of grace! 2 Happy birds that sing and fly Round Thy altars, O Most High! Happier souls that find a rest In a heavenly Father’s breast! Like the wandering dove that found No repose on earth around, They can to their ark repair, And enjoy it ever there. 3 Happy souls! their praises flow Even in this vale of woe; Waters in the desert rise, Manna feeds them from the skies. On they go from strength to strength, Till they reach Thy throne at length; At Thy feet adoring fall, Who hast led them safe through all.
  • 28. 26 4 Lord, be mine this prize to win: Guide me through a world of sin; Keep me by Thy saving grace; Give me at Thy side a place. Sun and shield alike Thou art; Guide and guard my erring heart: Grace and glory flow from Thee; Shower, oh shower them, Lord, on me! MHB 679 - Fight The Good Fight With all Thy Might 1 Fight the good fight with all thy might! Christ is thy strength, and Christ thy right; Lay hold on life, and it shall be Thy joy and crown eternally. 2 Run the straight race through God’s good grace, Lift up thine eyes, and seek His face; Life with its way before us lies, Christ is the path, and Christ the prize. 3 Cast care aside, lean on thy Guide; His boundless mercy will provide; Trust, and thy trusting soul shall prove Christ is its life, and Christ its love. 4 Faint not nor fear, His arms are near, He changeth not, and thou art dear; Only believe, and thou shalt see That Christ is all in all to thee.
