2. Problem Statement:
Agriculture contributes about 17-18 percent of India’s GDP where 70
percent of its rural population still depend primarily on agriculture with 82
percent of them being small and marginal. Agriculture is about 4 timesmore
effective than other sectors in removing poverty.
From ages we are implementing many seed sowing methods,but they have
resultedin low seedplacement , less spacing efficiency and serious
backache for the farmer which results in severehealth problems.This also
limited the size of the land that can be cultivated.
3. Solution:
To overcome the seed planting problems , there is need to develop the seed
sowing machine , which can be implemented for all types of crops , minimize
the working cost , time for digging and operating on clean energy.
4. Design of the Machine:
WeedCutter:
Attached in the front part of the
machine to cut the weeds which
can be utilised as natural
fertilizers further.
Plough:
Used for ploughing the
land to sow the seeds and
row spacing can be
achieved.
5. SeedTanker:
A seed tanker is placed on the top of the
machine in which fertilizers and seeds are
mixed in required amount and an orifice is
made so that single seed planting to hill
seed planting can be achieved.
Mud Coveror:
Placed at the end of the machine which
covers the mud which was out during the
ploughing.

module.
7. Components Used:
Ultrasonic Sensor
Used to detect the levels of seed
and water tanks respectively and
it of range 2 to 400 cm.
Arduino:
An open source hardware
platform on which the
overall project is built.
DC MOTORS :
Usedto run the weed
cutter and the machine.
HC 05 Bluetoothmodule :
Range of 10 cm , used to control
the machine by giving a voice
command over one’s phone
8. Automatic Tilted Solar Panel:
Usedin acquiring the requiredpower to
run the machine by absorbing the
maximum amount of sunlight by tilting
like a sunflower.
Nodemcu:
Connected to ultrasonic sensor and
send an immediate message to the
farmer when the respective seedand
water tank levels are less than 50 %
making using of IFTTT.
9. Blynk App:
Blynk app can control any electronic
device from anywhere by installing
Blynk Arduino library. This can even
simply act like a switch and can be
turned ON or OFF based upon our
requirement
12V Battery:
Usedto provide power supply
for arduino and motors.
10. L298NMotor Driver
It is a dual H-bridgemotor driver which
allowsspeedand directioncontrolof
twodc motors atthe sametime and we
haveusedthis H-bridgeto control the
wheels of the machineand weed
cutter.
11. Advantages:
● Proper germination of seeds in even distances can be achieved.
● Increased planting efficiency and accuracy.
● The machine is very cheap and can be easily manufactured at nearby
workshops.
● The product is scalable and would assist large scale farmersin
proper,effective planting of crop.
