This document discusses the development of a new VR headset that incorporates removable corrective lenses. Current VR headsets do not support corrective lenses and can cause discomfort. The proposed headset would have a padded frame and allow for standard corrective lenses to be installed or changed. It would be based on the open-source Google Cardboard design and avoid patent issues. The VR market is projected to grow significantly with over 200 million mobile users by 2019 as major companies invest billions in the technology. A segment of VR users will soon require corrective lenses to continue using headsets.
