Objectives

The Eco Trading Company and our products are
represented in Asia. We are committed to our goal of
evangelizing our green message and products
throughout the global market place to eﬀect a
change in mindset, to eﬀect a new paradigm.
We are also constantly evaluating and procuring
innovatively green products in various categories
and industries.

Our Pledge.

The Eco Trading Company (ETC) is committed to our environment,
its renewal and its management. As an environmentally concerned
organization, we pledge to donate 2% of our nett earnings to
WWF and similar charity endeavors every year.

Climate Change

“There can be no room for failure.”
Climate change is one of the greatest threats humankind has known.
Forests can be part of the solution. Forests and climate are intrinsically linked: forest loss and degradation
is both a cause and an effect of our changing climate.
It is estimated that more than 1.5 billion tons of carbon dioxide are released to the atmosphere due to
deforestation, mainly the cutting and burning of forests, every year.
Deforestation and forest degradation represent up to 20% of global anthropogenic carbon dioxide
emissions and are the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions after cars, trucks, trains, planes and
ships combined. By reducing forest loss, we can reduce carbon emissions and ﬁght climate change.

forest being cleared and billions of pallets being

The world is taking action.

The Paris Agreement is meant to signal the beginning of
the end of more than 100 years of fossil fuels serving as
the primary engine of economic growth and shows that
governments from around the world take climate
change seriously.

The deal requires any country that ratiﬁes it to act to
stem its greenhouse gas emissions in the coming
century, with the goal of peaking greenhouse gas
emissions “as soon as possible” and continuing the
reductions as the century progresses.

Countries will aim to keep global temperatures from
rising more than 2°C (3.6°F) by 2100 with an ideal target
of keeping temperature rise below 1.5°C (2.7°F).

Climate change is also caused by the release of increasing
quantities of greenhouse gas emissions from human activities, such
as burning gas in our cars and oil to generate electricity. Because
much of the increase in greenhouse gas emissions is a result of
burning fossil fuels for energy, energy efficiency has a key role in
tackling climate change. By using energy more wisely, we need less
energy to fulfil all our needs. In line with the ratification of the UN
climate change agreement in Paris 2015 (COP21), all businesses
needs to take action immediately!

Pallet waste.
54% of wood pallets are used for only one shipment and then either
stored, burned or thrown away. Every year in the United States
alone, 1 million acres of our planet’s trees are destroyed to
manufacture and produce the wooden pallets used to operate the
distribution industry.

At COP21 in Paris, international governments formally recognized
and acknowledged the key role that resilient forests and landscapes
play for both climate change and development. The 2015 UN
climate change conference was a pivotal for forests and builds on
the important Warsaw Framework for REDD+ (Reducing Emissions
from Deforestation & forest Degradation). This year, 195 developed
and developing nations came together to agree on the new climate
deal, including the global goal of keeping temperature increase “well
below” 2 degrees Celsius.


Pallet Logistics.
All industries utilizing logistics/freight forwarding will require
countless pallets in their supply chain. The wood pallet is key
contributor to climate change through deforestation.

It will only be a matter of time before the wood
pallet and packaging will be deemed unsustainable
environmentally and eventually wood will be
unavailable or too costly to be commercially viable.
Legislation will also follow suit and the wood pallet,
as we know it will no longer be a viable part of the
logistics equation.

Many countries have taken the ﬁrst step to reducing and some even
to reverse deforestation trends. Most countries including Europe,
North & South America have impose strict bans on illegal logging
while other countries like China have instituted steps to completely
ban commercial logging in natural forests altogether.

Lincoln Yeo is an extremely qualified sales and marketing
professional having graduated with a Diploma in Sales
and Marketing. He has founded and managed his MICE
company for the past 20 years; planning, marketing and
executing major milestone events. Lincoln has had
tremendous international sales experience in advertising
agencies dealing with print and digital sales as well as on
ground intelligence. Apart from being the President of
Lions Club of Clarke Quay for 2 consecutive years,
Lincoln is also an active marine industry entrepreneur.
Now a strong advocate of the environment, Lincoln is
passionate about the global effort to fight climate

JT is a vastly experienced regional brand and marketing
leader with rich and impeccable track record in
