Definition of development
• Genesis 1:28 BeHaveCanDo
• BE (Identity, who we are)
• Fruitful: fruit/product to start with
• Multiply: to reproduce the fruit/product
• Replenish: branches to distribute the product (see Dr Myles
Munroe Session on Leadership in Nigeria).
• Subdue: control mechanisms put in place, mastering.
• HAVE (results of Identity of who we are), resources available.
• Dominion: influence a domain/area/field
• CAN: Potential (Image/Representative) John10:34, Psalm82:6,
waiting to be released, manifested.
• DO: Capacity, with gifts, talents, skills, Ephesians 4:13, reach
the concretization, materialize
Development Behaviors
• Luke 10: 27
• Love the Lord your God with all your
• HEART (Deep Conviction/belief that leads to Convince).
• SOUL (Will and Emotions) decisions and feelings.
• STRENGTH (abilities, capacities) Philippians 4:13
• MIND (thinking, intellect, focus) Joshua 1:8
• (Love YOURSELF): the DASHBOARD of LOVE
• How you take care of yourself will determine your love for God and
for your neighbor. 1John4:20; Ephesians 5:29-30.

• V26 Vision of development, to cover SEA, AIR, EARTH
• V27 Agent of development MAN (male & female).
• V28 Mission of development: fruitful, multiply, replenish,
subdue, and the finality is DOMINION (Mastery).
• V29 Supply system to the agent of development. Eat for
strength to THINK (ideas, plan, concept) and to WORK,
utilizing energy to materialize the thinking pattern.
Proverbs 10:17.
• The ideal is Genesis 2:9-16 FREE.
• We can do proper development in the Will of God, and
the Supply is FREE. God is the one Who employs and
package all the BENEFITS.
Man focus on development
• Human started to develop systems:
• Army: horses, camels
• Transport (public and goods): horses, camels, asses
• Agriculture: oxen, asses
• Food (Meat/Milk) Industry: sheep, oxen, goat
• Shoe and Clothing/Textile Industry: oxen, sheep, goat
• Bedding Industry: goat’s Skin
• Construction Industry: goat’s skin
• Exodus 9:1-7, Exodus 26:7, Exodus 36:14 and 1Samuel 19:13-16,
• Dominion on people/nations NOTHING for FREE. 1Peter 4:10???
• INDUSTRIALISATION: processing raw materials into finished ones.
• COMMERCIALISATION: Trading, Traffic, Buy/Sell (in large scale).
• CURRENCY: Value to exchange/acquire/buy/sell services (£¥$€).
• STOCK EXCHANGE: Operating almost like auctions.
Part1 History of the World Population
• 1 Development of the human Race
• Adam and Eve (Gen 1:26-28), ONE PAIR of Humans.
• THE FLOOD in Gen 6, destroys and wipes human and
animal lives form the earth.
• After the Flood Noah’s Sons, Shem, Ham, Japheth
repopulated the world Gen10, THREE PAIRS of Humans.
• THE GREAT MIGRATION
• World Population started to increase, therefore need of
new LAND/PASTURE.
• Shem’s descendants: Asia Minor, deep Asia.
• Ham’s descendants: Asia Minor, Mediterranean, Africa.
• Japhet’s descendants: Asia Minor, Europe.

• 1 Billion in 1804.
• 2 Billion in 1927 (123 years) despite WWI.
• 3 Billion in 1960 (33 years) despite WWII.
• 4 Billion in 1974 (14 years).
• 5 Billion in 1987 (13 years).

2 Development of the Super Powers
• The idea started with a descendant of Ham.
• A SUPER POWER: is a nation appointed and equipped by
God Himself to pursue His AGENDA in establishing or
restoring ORDER among the nations.
• Jeremiah 18: 7-9 God plucks, pulls down, destroys or
builds and plants a nation.
• Pluck: Uproot, going deep to the foundations, remove.
• Pull down: bring down, cause a fall/collapse.
• Destroy: to abolish, terminate, end a system/reign.
• Build: raise up, grow, develop, prosper.
• Plant: establish strong foundations/be unshakable.
• All of them went through some of these stages!!!
The development of Super Powers
• 1. HAM Nimrod (Cush) Gen 11:1-9, Egypt (Misraim) Gen 12 to Ex 14
• 2. SHEM Assyria, 2 Kings 17:1-6, Babylon, Daniel 2:38.
• 3. JAPHET Medes n Persians Dan 2:32; Dan 4:28-37, Greece aka
Macedonia, Dan 2:32; Dan 11:3-4, Rome, Dan 2:33-41, Rom 1-16.
• Common factors with the Super Powers:
• Raised by God. God’s key Agents. God abased the Super Powers.
• Spiritual (polytheism belief).
• Political and Administrative structured and well organized.
• Military strong and well equipped, looking to extend the territory.
• Academically high level of education, with discoveries/inventions.
• Economically well established, citizen living luxuriously.
• Socially with good and degenerated moral values.
• Persecuting the people of God, by jealousy, fear or with no cause.
• Uncontrollable and abnormal sexual behaviors.
3 Development of the African Continent
• Name : has a signification.
• Name carries the Identity of the person, family, a community, a
tribe, a nation, even a Continent.
• Reason: for being/existence, or purpose Ex 3:13-14

• Reputation: build fame/greatness Gen 12:2.
• Reference: related to fame or greatness. Like a great player …

• Remembrance: to evoke or bring someone to memory.

Names of the Continents and explanations
• Most of the names have a Greek, Latin as well as
Phoenician origins.
• Africa: Afri+ca land of the Afri, from Latin. Afri people
came from Tyrus. Afer is singular, AFRO.
• America: from Amerigo Vespucci, an Italian navigator
and a cartographer , his trips to the Continent were in
1499 and 1502.
• Asia: Asu in Akkadian, to go out, to rise. Asu in Greek a
derivative of Phoenician, East, The land of sunrise
• Australia/Oceania: Australis in Latin South or Southern,
Ocean
• Europe: Europa, Mythological princess, from Greek,
Eurys, meaning wide. In Phoenician Ereb, evening west.
Part 2 Survey of the African Continent
• 1. Spiritual Development : from Polytheism, animism, ancestral
worship, superstition, refuge to the Patriarchs, to Christianity.
• 2. Political and Administrative Development: from sovereignty,
slavery, colonialism, independence, dictatorship, democracy.
• 3. Social Development: unemployment, poverty, polygamy,
diseases, great human values.
• 4. Economic Development: international debt, maladministration,
lack of accountability.
• 5. Academic development: Pyramids of Egypt/Sudan, Library of
Alexandria, Rocks of Zimbabwe, the gold in Mapungubwe. Brain
and skills drainage. Initiation school for boys/girls.
• 6. Military development: in the past, there used to be strong
armies well organized and disciplined. Today some countries have
heavy weaponry, but with dictatorship, the whole purpose of the
Army is hijacked to serve individuals interests.
Part 3 Promises and Purpose
• 1. Promises of the Blessing
• Individual level: Gen1:26-28, to build self confidence, self
esteem. Our ATTITUDE should be of FAITH that we are the
right people that the Continent has for development.
• Family level: Gen 12:3 Acts 16:31. Attacks on families:
fatherlessness, divorces, tribal wars, but the promise is
here, the purpose of the family is to BUILD countries.
• National level: Gen 18:18, Gen 22:18, nations have the
same Biblical PROMISE to prosper.
• Continental level: Gen 9:1, 18, Psalms 68:31 (Leadership
and Worship), Isaiah 19: 1-25, speaks of the Salvation of
Africa. PROTECTION – PRESERVATION – PROMOTION -
PROSPERITY

through medical science.
• Teach people being under the
anointing of the Spirit.
• Supernatural DEEDS
• Curing physical, emotional,
mental, spiritual diseases.

Conclusion
• Matt. 28:18-20 reconciles with Gen 1:26-28
• Development is God idea
• The plan of God starts with an individual (Divine Vision
or Divine Plan received).
• The Plan/Vision of God is then taken to a family, then a
community, a nation, a Continent, and the World.
• Development can only work if God is in the equation.
• Development can only work with godly people Eccl
10:17. Therefore, we should be involved in politics.
Proposing some Solutions for African development
• Discovering of our purpose and gifts.
• Discover our Identity, BE ourselves. Learn from others but BE US.
• Be PASSIONATE about our purpose, Identity and gifts.
• Be COURAGEOUS enough to stand for our Identity, our purpose,
and our conviction.
• Break away from the Mentality of Third World Countries by setting
own standard of development based on Biblical principles.
• God is the Only one Who know the POTENTIAL of Africans, so we
have to believe the Report of the Lord.
