20 seconds
This introducing shot will be the framing of the
school entrance and school sign, this shot will
not only show the audience the location of the
documentary is set. This is an effective way of
beginning the documentary.
2 Approx.
1 minute
The order of shots of the school grounds, again
granting the audience clear sites of the school
and perhaps transmitting a vibe from the school.
3 Approx.
1 Minute
Rather early on, an important documentary
convention will be shown, real footage followed
by an interview. This interview will be of a
teacher(Mrs Robbins). This can be the perfect
opportunity to experience the teacher’s feelings
towards the school. Baring in mind, Mrs Robbins
the teacher who has been teaching literature
and language for over 7 years at Newman.
3. 4 Approx.
30 seconds
An interview with a Teaching assistant (Mr Ward),
somebody’s views that can sometimes be
overlooked by many ibn the school and outside of
the school. But in this documentary, the assistant is
granted a voice and will he have the same opinion
as others.
5 Approx.
1 minute
A group interview of the final mass category that
has not yet been spoken to, students. Specifically
year 10’s who can provide us with information that
a teacher perhaps wouldn’t about the school.
6 Approx.
45 seconds
Interview with a teacher after the lesson in which
she has just taught. This scene will frame the
thoughts and feelings of a ordinary teacher instead
of the head teacher’s opinion.
7 Approx.
30 seconds
Exiting the location (Cardinal Newman secondary
school). An effective way to end the documentary,
in addition to this… it co-operated with the
beginning scene to the documentary.
