• This type of video is typical of the rock genre, these videos show
what the artist/s are like live and it can be used to promote the
concert as their fans will want to be there.
• They are seen as more authentic and a band who is conscious
about their reputation on stage may choose this form of video.
• They use split screen so you can see the fans as well as the band.

• Animation is a growing form of music videos.
• Only certain genres tend to use animation
music videos.
• Often its more common in music videos of the
indie rock and alt music persuasion.
• There are 3 main types of animation
– Traditional Hand Drawn
– Digital
– Stop motion
8. Parody Music Videos
• Parody means to imitate someone/something
or an issue. This is normally done in a negative
way.
• Artist like to make fun of other artists by
putting symbolization in the videos or
mimicking them.

• Pastiche music videos are very similar to
Parody videos, in the sense that you are
imitating someone/ something or an issue.
However this doesn't’t comment on the
subject matter.
• This is normally done in a more positive way.
14. Homage Music Videos
• Homage music videos is when you are paying
tribute to another person or thing.
• This is the most respectful one of the three.
• It is most common to pay homage to other
artists in the same genre as the song.
