2. INTRODUCTIONWASPAG is an independent, non-profit self-regulatory body organization with a remit of representing and self-regulating mobile-based value added services providers, otherwise known as WASPs. The Association aims to provide a neutral forum for members to address issues of common interest and interact with industry stakeholders, network operators and government bodies. WASPAG Objects to Ensure that members of the public use mobile services with confidence, and assurance that they will be provided with accurate information about all services and the pricing associated with those services. Provide a platform for addressing the concerns and complaints of the public relating to services provided by WASPAG members. In essence WASPAG aims to ensure that end-users receive world-class services whiles ensuring industry participants earn a fair return on their investments. The association was officially been founded in December 2012.
3. INTRODUCTIONWASPAG is recognized by The Telecom Chamber, all mobile network providers in Ghana, the National Communications Authority (NCA) and the Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Communications. WASPAG operates by a Code of Business Conduct and Ethics which all members be it Ordinary or Associates are bound to abide. Membership of WASPAG is voluntary and open to NCA approved providers of Wireless Application Services & products operating in Ghana. Prospective members, Ordinary, Associate or Honorary, are screened and accepted into the Association and issued membership certificates in accordance with procedures prescribed by the Association. Members will be required to have a the ability to create a business relationship with one or more of the network operators. By joining WASPAG, all members accept the WASPAG Code of Conduct and related procedures as binding and effective.
4. EXISTING WASPAG MEMBERS
Current Membership represents 90% of recognized and licensed operating companies in the WASP’s sector by the National Communication Authority.
5. WASPAG is governed by a Board of Directors and an Advisory Council. The Board Of Directors is composed of Senior Management Staff of member Companies selected by the WASPAG general assembly to run the affairs & secretariat of WASPAG, managing and ensuring adherence to signed codes, establishing and maintaining important relationships with relevant stakeholders. WASPAG also has the Advisory Council made up of seasoned industry experts and business leaders with great corporate reputation. Their mandate includes but not limited to providing advice and guidelines to the Board on the activities of WASPAG in relation to all its stakeholders i.e. the consumers, regulator, Mobile Network Operators, Other Government and business or industry associations etc. THE GOVERNING COUNCIL

Ebo is responsible for Rancard’s platform availability and service uptime. He oversees network operations & infrastructure covering mobile network and service provider connectivity, security and platform cost efficiency management. He also manages message platform engineering which includes the design and implementation of software interfaces to enhance performance and support for new applications on the message platform.
Prior to joining Rancard in 2009, Ebo worked in design and verification engineering, automated product validation and engineering simulation at Vitesse Semiconductor (USA). He was previously Senior Systems Analyst and part-time lecturer in engineering at the University of

Fiona has eight years experience in banking starting from Standard Chartered Bank, Ghana, in 2001, then moving to Standard Life, a global pensions company based in the UK in 2005 and later Access Bank, Ghana in 2009 where she held a double role as an Asset and Liability Manager and Treasury Sales Manager. She joined Rancard from MicroEnsure, a social enterprise focused on providing insurance to lower income Ghanaians, where she held the role of Acting Country Manager. As the Country Head for Ghana, she has oversight responsibility for all stakeholders in Rancard Ghana’s value chain, from MNO’s, to content providers and regulators, whilst resourcing the needs of the business and identifying viable opportunities in the Ghanaian VAS market. Fiona holds a BA in French and Psychology from the University of Ghana and an MBA from the University of Edinburgh business school.
