Wireless Application Services & Providers Association of GhanaAbout Us….
INTRODUCTIONWASPAG is an independent, non-profit self-regulatory body organization with a remit of representing and self-regulating mobile-based value added services providers, otherwise known as WASPs. The Association aims to provide a neutral forum for members to address issues of common interest and interact with industry stakeholders, network operators and government bodies. WASPAG Objects to Ensure that members of the public use mobile services with confidence, and assurance that they will be provided with accurate information about all services and the pricing associated with those services. Provide a platform for addressing the concerns and complaints of the public relating to services provided by WASPAG members. In essence WASPAG aims to ensure that end-users receive world-class services whiles ensuring industry participants earn a fair return on their investments. The association was officially been founded in December 2012.
INTRODUCTIONWASPAG is recognized by The Telecom Chamber, all mobile network providers in Ghana, the National Communications Authority (NCA) and the Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Communications. WASPAG operates by a Code of Business Conduct and Ethics which all members be it Ordinary or Associates are bound to abide. Membership of WASPAG is voluntary and open to NCA approved providers of Wireless Application Services & products operating in Ghana. Prospective members, Ordinary, Associate or Honorary, are screened and accepted into the Association and issued membership certificates in accordance with procedures prescribed by the Association. Members will be required to have a the ability to create a business relationship with one or more of the network operators. By joining WASPAG, all members accept the WASPAG Code of Conduct and related procedures as binding and effective.
EXISTING WASPAG MEMBERS 
Current Membership represents 90% of recognized and licensed operating companies in the WASP’s sector by the National Communication Authority.
WASPAG is governed by a Board of Directors and an Advisory Council. The Board Of Directors is composed of Senior Management Staff of member Companies selected by the WASPAG general assembly to run the affairs & secretariat of WASPAG, managing and ensuring adherence to signed codes, establishing and maintaining important relationships with relevant stakeholders. WASPAG also has the Advisory Council made up of seasoned industry experts and business leaders with great corporate reputation. Their mandate includes but not limited to providing advice and guidelines to the Board on the activities of WASPAG in relation to all its stakeholders i.e. the consumers, regulator, Mobile Network Operators, Other Government and business or industry associations etc. THE GOVERNING COUNCIL
Ishmael Yamson-ChairmanChief Executive Officer -Nosmay Company Limited 
Experienced Business Development and Corporate Strategy Executive with four successful ICT and new media start ups. Ishmael Yamson is a highly competent business leader and business development professional, with a total of 14 years work experience. He combines strong business acumen with exceptional technical and process knowledge, and has a solid track record of delivering business and ICT solutions. Ishmael has a strong entrepreneurial spirit which has seen him 
build a number of private businesses during the last 11 years. In addition and prior to this, Ishmael worked with a number of sizable ICT organizations, where he led his teams to deliver commendable results. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 
Ebo Bentil -Vice Chairman 
Chief Information Officer –Rancard Solutions 
Ebo is responsible for Rancard’s platform availability and service uptime. He oversees network operations & infrastructure covering mobile network and service provider connectivity, security and platform cost efficiency management. He also manages message platform engineering which includes the design and implementation of software interfaces to enhance performance and support for new applications on the message platform. 
Prior to joining Rancard in 2009, Ebo worked in design and verification engineering, automated product validation and engineering simulation at Vitesse Semiconductor (USA). He was previously Senior Systems Analyst and part-time lecturer in engineering at the University of

Conrad A. Nyuur -Director-Corporate & Regulatory AffairsGeneral Manager –Mobile Content Group 
A total Corporate Experience Spanning almost 12 years of Corporate experience in different fields. A trained Civil Engineer diverted into Media, Strategy and brand building & development, have worked in some Ghana's leading events and Marketing & media company as well as eventually having spent nearly 8 years of corporate life in Telecommunications with special interests in products and services development and delivery, innovation and creative thinking and deployment of essential market needs to meet the customers utmost need of telecommunication subscription -i.e. Making lives easier and comfortable via the use of technology. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 
Fiona Laryea –Director Finance & Admin 
Country Manager –Rancard Solutions Ltd. 
Fiona has eight years experience in banking starting from Standard Chartered Bank, Ghana, in 2001, then moving to Standard Life, a global pensions company based in the UK in 2005 and later Access Bank, Ghana in 2009 where she held a double role as an Asset and Liability Manager and Treasury Sales Manager. She joined Rancard from MicroEnsure, a social enterprise focused on providing insurance to lower income Ghanaians, where she held the role of Acting Country Manager. As the Country Head for Ghana, she has oversight responsibility for all stakeholders in Rancard Ghana’s value chain, from MNO’s, to content providers and regulators, whilst resourcing the needs of the business and identifying viable opportunities in the Ghanaian VAS market. Fiona holds a BA in French and Psychology from the University of Ghana and an MBA from the University of Edinburgh business school.
Mr. Alex Adjei Bram -Director -Public Relation and Communications 
Team Lead -Business Development –SMS-GH Ltd 
Mr. Alex Adjei Bram is the General Manager of SMSGH. His dedication and professional sense of duty has helped grow SMSGH into a world-class messaging company, and maintain its local leadership position in the mobile messaging, aggregation and applications space. Alex holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and has vast experience in business and project management as well as in mobility application deployments. Under his supervision, SMSGH processes more than 4milllion messages for over 5,000 corporate clients serving more than 10million mobile subscribers and application dependents/users. Chimere Mbonu -Director -Technical Chief Executive Officer at MTech Communications Ghana 
Worked in the vas industry for over 5 years and currently oversees all planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluation of the operations of the organization, Planning, administration and control of budget, Prepare reports, budgets and briefs for evaluation. Has a good technical knowledge of the VAS Industry as well.
Andy Adjetey -Director -Deputy Finance & Admin 
CEO –SOFTBOUND 
Andy is a pioneer graduate from the Presbyterian University College with a degree in Accounting and Finance. He began his career as an Audit Associate in an audit firm and then later joined an agribusiness to manage administration and marketing. He is an enthusiastic self-motivated and versatile young man; ambitious, conscientious, loyal, and a self-starter, who goes “above and beyond” to achieve personal and professional goals/objectives. 
Andy has a certificate in Project Management and Internal Quality Management Systems Audit (based on ISO 9001:2000 quality management requirements) THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Customer ServiceManager -Rancard Solutions Ltd 
Strong personality with great communication and customer management skills. She Manages Customer services and expectations at Rancard Solutions and has been doing this for over 3 years. 
She has also worked at the Ghana Refugees Board as an Assistant Programs Officer
Benedicta Ghansah-Afful MCIM -Board MemberClient Service/Marketing at MediaEdge-GSM (Multiple Concepts Group) An enthusiastic, dedicated and adaptable individual, has a Bachelor’s Degree programme, Faculty of Business Administration (Marketing option) at the Methodist University College, holder of a Professional Diploma in Marketing (CIM, UK), Full member of CIM, UK (MCIM) and valuable work experience within a variety of commercial environments with the minimum of 8 years. Michael Akanbek -Legal Advisor 
Experienced in provision of effective and practical legal advice on a comprehensive range of issues relating to Corporate and Commercial Law, Intellectual Property Law, Information and Communications Law, Banking and Financial Services Law, Telecoms and other areas of the law.
WASPAG seeks to use effective and collaborative partnerships to enhance service delivery to the final end user, through the appropriate intermediaries i.e. the Mobile Network operators, handset and device manufacturers and, other technical and platform providers, in the acceptable manner and standards permitted by the RegulatorOUR VISION
Ensure WAS customers in Ghana receive world-class services. Ensure industry stakeholders earn a fair return on their investments. Ensure that members work for the mutual benefit of the association. Provide a platform for addressing the concerns and complaints of the public relating to services provided by members.
