ATTACHMENT TRAINEE IT STUDENT PROGRAMME
Programme Description
The programme is designed to coach a trainee to be able to effectively perform
the duties and responsibilities of Information Technology.
The Training will be implemented and administered by the following:
 Finance Manager
 Chief Accountant
 Acting IT Administrator
 Training Officer
 Human Resources Manager
The Trainee will undergo reinduction into Shamva mine. He/she will be inducted
into the functions of all the Service departments related to Mining and all
Underground Mining operations. During the training period he/she will undergo all
the physical aspects of mining and will be required to work shift work. The trainee
will be required to obtain a First aid certificate during initial induction. He/she will
also undergo Basic Supervisory courses. She/he will be assessed on quarterly
basis and an overall assessment will be conducted at the end of a 12 months’
period. The attaché will also be required to run a laboratory section as a
Technician until he/she has successfully obtained a National Diploma.

Training and Programme Responsibilities
 The Acting IT Administrator, Chief Accountant, Finance Manager, Human
Resources Manager and Training Officer are jointly responsible for the
implementation of the Programme and for the welfare of the student.
 The trainee’s Programme will be monitored by the Acting IT Administrator
who will be the student’s Mentor and will work under his direct supervision
for all Information Technology activities.
 Selected section supervisors will coach the cadets on their respective
TASKs during which the former will be required to prepare the necessary
resource material to assist in the TASK Report Write-ups.
 The trainee will report to the Training Officer fortnightly to ensure
compliance to the training programme and report submissions.
Reporting and Assessment of Performance
The Mentor will formally meet with the trainee each month to discuss
professional matters and to assess the development of the programme.
The Mentor herein will analyze and discuss the student’s notes and work reports
and will write up a quarterly report on the status of the attachment programme to
the Chief Accountant, copied to the Training Officer.
A report on each TASK will be submitted to TASK Coach, the Mentor for
assessment and then copied to the Training Officer.
