2. Introduction
The Commission is in the process of implementing an Electronic Results
Transmission (ERT) System that allows provisional results to be
transmitted electronically from all polling stations to the tallying centers
where the results will be consolidated and reported. The system is
intended to work with a GPRS-enabled enabled mobile device that
transmits over a Virtual Private Network provided by the local
telecommunication network operators.
The Results Transmission System is a key component of IEBC’s wider
Results Management System which consists of three components.
1. Results Transmission
2. Telecommunication/Connectivity component
3. Results Presentation
The Electronic Results Transmission system requires each polling centre
reporting the provisional results of six (6) races and to transmit these
results to three (3) different Tally Centers across the country.
