 Government Assisted PC Programme – (iadvance)
launch on 15th May 2006
 Private – Public Partnership – GOG (Ministry of
Communications, local computer assemblers, Intel
and Microsoft, Banks, leasing Companies and ISPs
 Engine to drive the successful implementation of
Ghana’s ICT4AD policy
 Similar initiatives in UK, Sweden, Italy, Philippines,
Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Nigeria

3. AIM
 “Computer For You” (Computer4U)
 Ghana Government Assisted PC Programme
(GAPP) aimed at accelerating the uptake and
use of Information Communications
Technology (ICT) in Ghana.
 Increase Home Personal Computer (PC)
ownership and usage in Ghana

4. Target Group
 MDAs including district assemblies
 MPs and Judicial Service
 Private Sector – SMEs
 Education – students and department
 Non Profits
 International Institutions
 Individuals – Employees scheme

5. Objectives
 Enable e-Government
 Help governments to meet their citizens'
expectations
 Contribute to bridging the 'digital divide’
 Create additional tax revenue
 Others include advisory services, training
and technical Support

 GAPP is working hard to increase high
utilization of PCs in Ghana.
 GAPP is providing a full-featured PC to
enable individuals and institutions work more
efficiently and productively
 Provision of affordable PCs at the highest
quality to ensure value for money.
