3. CICCP: The project
Each year, Spain’s government chartered civil engineering society, the CICCP, approves
more than 20 million documents. Mostly plans for such public works projects as dams, roads
and bridges, these documents ultimately have to be stored, creating yet another expense for
the Colegio de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos.
The problem:
•An Ingeneer has to provide 5 to 8 copies of each project
•The engineering society has to approve and store all tha projects an Ingeneer provides: 20
000 000 plans each year
•The time needed to send the projects to the engineering society, approve and stamp each
page and have them back to the engeneer to start the project.
•For an ingeneer it costed around 10 000 € to get a project approved

Kas Bank is one of the most important Dutch major Bank companies that has signed a
Certification Authority (CA) to develop its own Certification Authority from ipsCA’s root
certificate. This means that the bank will be able to issue digital certificates supported by
the experience of the company.
Corporate CAs can generate any type of certificate like Personal Certificates, Server
Certificates, certificates for WAP, for IPSec-VPN– for its users such as employees,
suppliers, or clients and for its servers.

8. Kas Bank: The solution
The solution provided corresponds a Chained CAs, where the certificates are part of ipsCA
certificates hierarchy and are recognized by email programs, browsers and web servers, and
CAs based on ipsCA root certificates, where the certificates are issued with ipsCA root
certificates.
•ipsCA, for its part, provided the company with consultancy services during the installation of
the Certification Authority.
•ipsCA also provided electronic signature tools that will allow the signing of these certificates,
and that will therefore increase the security of transactions and will offer a much faster and
efficient service.

11. Nanta: The project
IpsCA has developed an electronic signature system to allow veterinarians of Nanta, the
largest supplier of livestock food in Spain, the possibility of signing prescriptions from any
computer connected to the Internet.
The problem was that every factory of Nanta drafted a report with its prescriptions, which
were afterwards signed by hand one by one, consequently the procedure delayed the
departure of the delivery trucks.

12. Nanta: The solution
Now, thanks to the software developed, the veterinarian can visualize, with a simple web
application, the list of prescriptions that still have to be signed.
The application is connected to the central system of Nanta, where reside the databases.
The administrators create the prescription following the instructions of the veterinarian, and
once this procedure is finished, they place it on the Internet to be revised and signed by the
professional.
To be able to sign the document, every veterinarian must have a digital certificate.

13. Nanta: The results
The application developed has made possible the unification of the system and the speed
up of the signing of prescriptions and, as a consequence, of the delivery of animal feed
and the saving of paper.
Now a veterinarian can sign a prescription from his own laptop and send it afterwards to
the factory so that the feeds are delivered.
This solution replaces the manual input of prescription data with a system that collects
these details and automatically classifies them.
