Architecture of fpga embedded multiprocessor programmable controllerIISTech2015
This document presents the design and implementation of a multiprocessor programmable controller using an FPGA chip. The controller runs control tasks in parallel according to the IEC 61131-3 standard. It combines both program-based and hardware-coded approaches to FPGA implementations. Performance tests show the prototype executes control programs significantly faster than industrial PLCs. The design uses a Spartan3E FPGA, with Modelsim for simulation and Xilinx ISE for synthesis. It offers advantages of smaller size, high speed, high performance and low power.
The Delta Configured Modular Multilevel ConverterIISTech2015
This document introduces an alternative configuration for modular multilevel converters called the delta configuration. The delta configuration stacks phase legs in series, unlike the typical wye configuration. This allows for greater flexibility in scaling voltages and currents. The document derives single-ended and differential delta topologies, noting the differential topology reduces energy storage needs. It also lists tools like MATLAB/Simulink and PSPICE that were used and notes the configuration will result in both hardware outputs and simulations.

This document presents an input-series-output parallel configuration for single-phase front-end buck rectifiers that is suitable for high voltage traction applications. The configuration uses pulse width modulated buck rectifiers with a medium or high frequency transformer providing isolation between the input and output stages. A control scheme with inner and outer loops is used to regulate the output voltage while ensuring equal current and voltage sharing between the modules from the AC side. Simulation and hardware output results are presented.
Bridgeless PFC-Modified SEPIC Rectifier With Extended Gain for Universal Inpu...IISTech2015
This document presents a bridgeless PFC-modified SEPIC rectifier topology designed to operate in discontinuous conduction mode for universal input voltage applications. The proposed topology aims to achieve near unity power factor and low total harmonic distortion of the input current. It provides advantages like zero-current turn-on of power switches and simple control circuitry. The performance is compared to a modified full-bridge SEPIC rectifier in terms of efficiency, total harmonic distortion, and power factor. Simulation and hardware results are presented.
Analysis of Dual-Carrier Modulator for Bidirectional Non inverting Buck–Boost...IISTech2015
This document analyzes a dual-carrier modulator for a bidirectional non-inverting buck-boost converter. The modulator can create switching sequences for both converter legs without knowing the operating mode or power flow direction. It receives a control signal from a current controller and a triangular carrier to generate two duty cycles, allowing tight control of the inductor current across the entire operating range. Simulation and hardware tools used include MP LAB, ORCAD/PSPICE, MATLAB/SIMULINK.
This document discusses a project analyzing the impacts of implementing droop control in doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) wind turbines on microgrid and weak grid stability. Currently, conventional DFIG control does not allow wind turbines to participate in frequency regulation. The project aims to address this issue through detailed analysis of droop-controlled DFIG units in microgrids. Simulation and hardware tools like MP Lab, Orcad/Pspice, and MATLAB/Simulink were used to study the outputs.
A novel drive method for high speed brushless IISTech2015
This document presents a novel drive method for high-speed brushless DC motors that operates over a wide speed range. It analyzes pulse-width modulation and pulse-amplitude modulation control methods and concludes that pulse-amplitude modulation is superior at high speeds due to reduced commutation delay and harmonics. A new hybrid drive method is proposed that combines pulse-width modulation and pulse-amplitude modulation. The method is analyzed using simulation tools and verified through hardware experiments and output measurements.
A Multi-Input Bridgeless Resonant AC-DC Converter for Electromagnetic Energy ...IISTech2015
This document proposes a multi-input bridgeless resonant AC-DC converter to efficiently harvest electromagnetic energy from multiple low-voltage generators and condition the output power. The converter uses an LC resonant network to step up the low alternating voltages from each generator before rectification. Its resonant operation enhances efficiency and allows for high frequency switching and miniaturization. Output impedance can be adjusted through resonance impedance matching and pulse-frequency modulation control. Simulation and hardware results validate the converter's ability to harvest energy from multiple low-voltage electromagnetic generators.
This document presents a novel isolated high step-up converter using an adjustable voltage-multiplier module for sustainable energy applications. The voltage-multiplier modules are composed of coupled inductors and switched capacitors to achieve a high step-up gain without a large duty ratio or turns ratio. Due to passive lossless clamped performance, leakage energy is recycled to reduce voltage spikes and improve efficiency while allowing use of lower voltage switches. The isolated topology satisfies safety regulations and provides continuous smooth input current to decrease losses and electromagnetic interference.

THE SACRIFICE HOW PRO-PALESTINE PROTESTS STUDENTS ARE SACRIFICING TO CHANGE T...indexPub
The recent surge in pro-Palestine student activism has prompted significant responses from universities, ranging from negotiations and divestment commitments to increased transparency about investments in companies supporting the war on Gaza. This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.

2. ABSTRACT
• This project proposes a novel four-quadrant vector controlled induction
motor (IM) adjustable speed drive (ASD) system based on a recently
proposed matrix converter topology called quasi-Z-source direct matrix
converter (QZSDMC).
• The QZSDMC is formed by cascading the quasi-Z-source impedance
network and the conventional direct matrix converter (DMC).
• The QZSDMC can provide buck-boost operation with voltage transfer ratio
controlled by controlling the shoot-through duty ratio and bidirectional
operation capability.
• The control strategy, which is based on the indirect field oriented control
algorithm, is able to control the motor speed from zero to the rated value
under full load condition during motoring and regenerating operation
modes.
