The 6 hats analysis is useful because it groups
together decision making factors, assesses all
aspects of decisions and is relatively easy and
simple to complete. Despite the advantages,
there are some setbacks to the 6 hats analysis,
these would include the fact that it is a time
consuming process grouping all information into
sections and it does not segregate internal and
external influences.

Pareto Analysis
A company can outline whether something new is
worth doing and if it will produce a profit or
whether it will drain money out of the business
and give a poor return
The good thing about a Pareto analysis is that it
determines what is not making money in the
business and what is. It is good because it is not
overly time consuming either. The disadvantage
of the Pareto analysis is that it only outlines what
is and is not successful in the business, it does
not actually solve the problem
