Balsall Common Primary gets VIP Tour of Forest of Arden.
Children from Balsall Common Primary School Cooking Club were invited to The Forest of
Arden, Marriott Hotel and Country Club for a VIP tour, a table laying demonstration and to
pick up the ingredients for the Cooking Club.
Debbie Hawkins, Human Resources Manager, was on hand to meet us and give us the
access all areas tour of the hotel. The children were very impressed with the facilities as they
took in the kitchens, restaurants, spa, golf club, gym, pool and finished off with a practical
demonstration on how to lay a table for a formal dinner.
Along the way they were warmly met by section managers, heads of department and one
group got to question Eamonn Thompson, the General Manager.
Howard Rose, Funding & Publicity Manager, at Balsall Common Primary School, said,
“ Thank you so much for allowing us to see such a great facility and question your staff and a
big thank you for your continued support of the Cooking Club by supplying the ingredients.
This is yet another example of working with local businesses to bring about better outcomes
for pupils.”
