The new state-of-the-art Baptist Memorial Hos-
pital of North Mississippi is being constructed in
Oxford and will be replacing the current operating
Baptist Hospital located only one half mile from
construction.
The 540,000 square feet
of pure hospital care space
is five stories tall and
houses brand new technol-
ogy for the treatment and
care of patients, includ-
ing 250 patient beds, ten
operating rooms, and
all support facilities that
require for a new modern
up-to-date hospital.
Ivey Mechanical was able to obtain the 26-month
design assist contract with Robins and Morton
and is on schedule to meet or succeed the sched-
ule completion date. Ivey has been able to fabricate
approximately 70% of all systems for the project
in house. This has improved the quality of work
and has reduced the labor impacts that would have
required many additional craftsmen onsite for this
particular project.
The Central Energy Plant is located in a separate
structure and contains 3200 tons of cooling capac-
ity and three steam fired boilers. Sixteen (16) air
handlers provide 732,000 CFM of conditioned air to
the building thru the ultra-
clean supply and return
air duct systems. A direct
digital controls system is
being installed to maintain
the required building tem-
perature and pressurization.
Approximately 1200 plumb-
ing fixtures provide the
sanitary plumbing require-
ments.
Ivey Mechanical em-
ployees along with Project Manager, Ken Bain and
Superintendent, Mike Crawford have completed
106, 472 man hours with no loss-time accident.
President of Ivey, Denny Terrell is proud of the job
our Nashville Division is doing, “Our mission is
simply to provide quality services safely. When we
work together to accomplish this mission, great
things can happen. The Baptist Memorial Hospital
of North Mississippi is a perfect example.”
